ios 11 update phone freezing

I have an iPhone 6 and two iPhone 6s that I regret updating
to IOS 11. Now the phones are freezing and getting stuck to the point the phones
re-boot. I googled the issue and it seems Apple have taken upon themselves to
slow down the CPU of older phones with every new IOS, in order to optimize performance
of the battery? Which I am calling out as BS, Apple is stating they are not
doing this to make its customers upgrade, but that is the case when I am about
to t get its consumers to upgrade, how
else would they continue to make profits? BTW I am visiting my parents whom, I
gave my mother my old iPhone 6 which is on 10.3.3, Its running smooth and is
not freezing compared to the iPhone 6 I have as a backup.

happen to have any widgets on your lock screen? or dating apps installed? try removing both before a complete reset.

FWIW since updating to 11.0.2 I haven't had a crash.

OK. I turned off location services and turned back on. Two hours and counting and my iPhone 6 Plus seems to be functioning as normal...

Just log each time it happens, what was happening just before it, what you did to clear it and show them that.

indeed 11.1 is a permanent fix and unbelievable battery life...my 8 recorded 49 hours in single charge!! Go for it for a peaceful usage!!

Have the same issue with iPhone 7. Usually have to reset the phone 2-3 times a day.

Went to the Apple Store, they said that problem is with software and advised me to make an iCloud backup, then restore to the newest iOS 11 from iTunes, then set up the iPhone from iCloud backup. Followed the instructions, and, unfortunately, it didn't help at all.

So, the phone is unpredictable right now and i can't trust it anymore 😟

This isn't global, I have a high end phone and I'm not having the issues you are seeing so include as much data as possible in your feedback as well as what troubleshooting steps you have taken.

I'm glad you never had any issues with updates but I find that hard to believe since iPhone OS 2 and iOS 3 bother had interim updates that caused battery issues on every phone and an update had to be rushed out. Maybe you skipped those updates.

After a lot of testing, refresh the iPhone with new iOS 11.01 I'm sure that the cause is the link with the AppleID.

When the Apple send me the code for authenticating the device I cannot type the code on my phone for 1 min iOS freezing. After 1 min I type the code and the code was expired.

Exact same issue. This didn't happen to me before. Have my iPhone 6s Plus more or less since it came out.

I had this freeze (unable to tap anything on the screen and pushing side button to get "slide to power off" doesn't work)

now maybe 4 times (updated to iOS 11 when it was available to regular users).

The only thing that helps, is to "force restart" the iPhone (holding side button and Home for several seconds).

Until the next freeze.

I saw comments, saying that it wasn't a bug and it must be the phones. I don't believe this. As I didn't have this issue before.

Also, I'm not sure if it was like that pre-iOS11, if you go Landscape in Video FaceTime call then switch to different app, I can't get back by tapping the green "Face Time" bar. Have to rotate quickly to Portrait, then I can tap the green bar.

Surely minor detail, but I thought that this worked before.

I'll try and find out if the freeze happens after using specific Apps but this will be rather hard as it happens not so regularly.

Yes, it probably is on your iPhone. Have you reported it to Apple by any means available? The freeze problem is probably much harder to pinpoint so all the data engineers can get helps them. My point was that 11.0.3 doesn't claim to fix that problem.

Count me in. I have a 64GB iphone 7 and also experience the freezes people have been reporting (running ios 11.0.3). Apart from the freezes, I also have other issues with ios 11 :

- sometimes, I would initiate or receive calls ans not be able to hear or speak to the other person on the line (a reset would solve this but still, you can imagine the user experience of this)...

- listeing to music using a BT headset on a non Apple Music app (ie Deezer which is basically a Spotify competitor), commands sent using the headset would not be "routed" to the streaming app but interpreted by the iphone as meant for the default music app (eg, hitting play/pause while listening to a particular song would launch a song on the Apple music app). Also, the BT headset icon in the top menu bar would sometimes into show up there.

As a last resort before reinstalling my iphone as a new device, I have just disabled most of my "always on" location authorizations in the system settings as I've read in this thread that it might help... Will keep you posted.

11.1 do not have these issues, I tested it for a while now, also like I said in one of the previous answers this problem is not reproducible for more than a week in my 6s and 8 with 11.0.2 I haven't moved to 11.0.3. All so smooth absolutely whatsoever...Apple is doing some magic here. Only thing am following keeping always in low battery mode..location services off!

Do you mean when you hold the side button and the volume down button for 10 seconds you don't get the apple logo, at which point you can let go of the buttons? Mine works when doing that.

If yours doesn't you need to arrange for service to get yours looked at.
