Updated to iOS 11. Now my iPhone won’t play on my Audi (2015 A6) MMI system. Audi or Apple’s issue?

Hi,
Had the same issue.
Found that by removing the Bluetooth connection (deleting it) and then connecting via the MMI cable (no Blurtooth) it then worked as expected, (views of Albums,Songs, Artisits etc).
Once connected via the MMI then reconnected Bluetooth & phone and all is now working.

I found out the problem. After a week of playing with the problem, I finally found out what the issue is. First step is to reconnect the AMI cable then connect to the Bluetooth. Next setup after connecting to the Bluetooth is to go to Apple Music( one that comes pre installed) then while in there just pick random song and press play. Next step is to restart the MMI by holding the center button, top right, and the setup together for about 3 seconds. While the mmi restarts don’t exit out the Music app. What for the mmi to fully restart and boom it will work.
Audi (or whoever made the MMI software) will need to update their system. Apple releases beta versions of iOS specifically for this purpose. Audi should have been on this a long time ago. Call them and ask when an update will be made to be compatible with iOS 11.
Hi All,
It seems that the latest IOS version 11.0.2 resolved all MMI issues. You may need to re-boot the Audi MMI in order to get to recognize your iPhone.
Thanks
Updating to iOS 11.0.1 resolved all issues. It was very likely a bug in the iOS 11 release.
The only person that can mark it as solved is the original poster. For them the 11.0.2 update resolved the issue (which is pretty lucky as that normally doesn't fix these kind of issues). If you are having a problem still with your vehicle/system, contact Audi to see if they will be issuing a firmware update to be compatible with iOS 11.
Hi All,
I'm also having the same problem. it appears the IOS 11 has doesn't like MMI system. I'm also encountering an issue with all contacts the have images assigned to them. For these contacts the voice dialing over Bluetooth doesn't work. Remove the image and voice dialing works again. Definitely a bug in IOS 11.
thanks
Well my 2006 A6 has been back to Audi, no updates for MMI available, running IOS 11.2.5 and phone will not work through Bluetooth still after dealer rest of MMI.
May be I will just go Android so I don't have to deal with this rubbish anymore.
I also updated to iOS11 today. Now, my iPhone 6s+ will not play on my Audi (2010 A5 MMI system. I tried "Forgetting this device" and re-attachment the blue tooth, but no joy. I tried attaching a "lightning" connecting wire to my vehicle, but no joy.
I'm having this exact same issue. My 2014 A6 connects but I can't see the track info or switch between songs.
Also, it keeps switching from spotify to apple music as if I just connected and had no music app open.
I've tried (in this order):
This seems to be a problem for a lot of people, I connect my iPhone 6 via the custom lead supplied by Audi (not a USB which has a lightning connector to then attach it to the phone) this then operates apple music through the screen in the car and voice control making it hands free - I cannot connect via bluetooth as the car only supports 1 blue tooth device and I need my business phone connected to it during the working week. Since updating to iOS 11.0.1 I get an error message saying the device is not supported. Do you know if there has been a software update issues to Audi - I assume they would have worked with apple on it? I am in an Audi A4 2014.
In the past I could connect my iPhone 6 to a cable inside my glove compartment using a lightning adapter and it would play music over the Audi MMI music system it would also charge and play Podcasts. Since I’ve updated to iOS 11 the system does not even recognize the phone it won’t charge and it won’t play music Allie seems to think it’s an Apple problem
Thanks for that, however when you say a cable do you mean a Standard USB cable with a lightening connector or do you mean another type of cable?
I cannot find a Standard USB plug anywhere in the car???
OK, things must have changed on different models. I have no USB anywhere in the car and nothing at all in the glove box.
The nearest i get to any plug it a rubber covered one in the arm rest that resembles nothing I've ever seen.
thank you
