iPhone not getting text notifications

Followed the tips and found the Bluetooth switched off and text notifications came through. Switched it back on from the flip up on the screen and even though my ipad and iphone are side by side, the ipad notifies all texts and the iphone every second text without fail. Switch off blue tooth and both work. Mmmmmmm

I have viewed most if not all the statements here and nothing worked for my wife's 6s.

I saw something about bluetooth , no joy, mute same thing. Do not disturb nope.

I went to a text that I had sent to her during one of my 20 or so test messages. In the upper right hand corner are 3 dots. clicked on them and it something about location, so I said yes to each of them. You should know that while I was on this site and trying to log in, Apple would not let me, they then sent my wifes phone a code, when they did that the [hone beeped.

After I did the locations, I tried again and the phone worked, that was 5 hours ago, I check every hour and it still works.

It would be lovely if this is what it was for everyone - many posts just like this on this discussion but it is not the problem for most of us.

There is a big list of causes but the most common is that IF you have a Bluetooth device on, especially the Apple Watch, you won’t get the sound notification. A lot of people say a Bluetooth headset will do it too and I - for one - am sick and tired of people saying just turn off all Bluetooth, as if THAT is a terrific fix. I’m not pitching my watch to fix my phone.

OK, here is something.

When i set the iPhone time manualy 2 minutes back, i dont gent any text notifications. Just the badge on the messages icon gets updated.

When I set the iPhone time 2 minutes „in to the future“ the text notifications work as they should... even when the iPhone is locked.

Resetting network settings worked for me, as well, at least for 1 day....

After days of searching the net, here's my answer. The silent button on the on/off switch. Push the switch up.

i would suggest check your Notificatation pannel and restart your iPhone again

If you turn the sound off on your watch (tap the bell in the controls) your watch will vibrate and your phone will ring w a text.

This works for me w my watch (series 3) not sure if that makes a difference. Any time I have the sound turn on my watch my phone doesn’t ring but as soon I mute the sound my phone rings.

Check the left hand side of your iphone for a orange stripe.If you found the stripe,flip the switch to the other side.

Hope it works.

2. notifications
3. Sounds and badges
4. badgets should be turned on and everything should be fine. If it’s off you won’t have the icon telling you how many unread messages you have

Same thing here on my 6. But it's not just text messages. Not receiving any notifications at all from any apps. I've checked all their settings and tried rebooting, but it didn't work. This is a fairly significant issue as I have no idea if I missed something on my phone without going in and checking all the relevant apps.

I have this same issue on my iPhone 7. I never know if I am getting a text anymore and spend hours without looking at my phone. I have gone through all of the notifications settings in the Settings area, and have made sure that my volume and ringer volume are the highest they can be.

It also doesn't vibrate when the ringer is flipped off. Please fix this Apple!!!

I thought the same thing, I updated to 11.01 this morning before posting this. When nothing was fixed that led me to do some searching to see if others had the same problem. I also submitted two Apple Feedback bug reports today to report my findings.

Yup +1 from me on my 8+. The screen works after a reboot and will continue for a while but will then just stop working. No notification and pulling down from the top of the screen results in a blank screen.

This isn't a notification routing problem I.e. appearing on another device as it works correctly after a reboot.

The Bluetooth suggestion didn't improve anything for me.

This is a huge bug that needs to be dealt with ASAP. I was hoping 11.0.1 would fix it but alas not.

Issue reported to Apple for what it's worth.
