ios 11 slow wifi speeds

Updated my 6s and now my WiFi speeds are at a crawl mostly under 25mbs in the same room as a laptop getting 75mbs download speeds.

I’ve done a Forced Restart

Toggled WiFi on/off

Forgotten WiFi networks

Reset WiFi networks

Turned off Location Services

Etc etc etc

The only thing I have done is reset the entire phone 📱

Anyone else reporting these issues?

Try connecting to WiFi on the 5 GHz band instead of 2.4 GHz if your router has the option. This worked for me.

I had this same problem since I upgraded to iOS 11 on my iPhone 6S Plus. I tried everything suggested except for a full restore.

I was connected to my router via the 2.4 GHz band when having the problem. I would get >50 Mbps on my Macbook but <1 Mbps on my iPhone when running a speed test.

I instead connected my iPhone to my router's 5 GHz band and have consistently been getting >50 Mbps on my iPhone now and have had no problem with WiFi on iOS 11 since switching bands.

I hope this helps all of you.

This is happening for me as well -- both on my iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 11, my wife's iPhone 6 with iOS 11, and now both of our iPhone X's have the same issue!

On our phones, WiFi speed is about 6mbps download. We're standing right next to the iMac which is getting 75mbps download.

I've tried everything --- no luck. It seems like the phones are the only pieces of hardware in the house that have this issue -- why???

I know what the issue is. And sadly nobody can fix it. When Apple rolled out that software that allows Low Power Mode, it’s screwed up a whole bunch of stuff on phones. Slow down performance, WiFi speed‘s as well as throttled performance of applications loading and closing as well as refreshing in the background. It’s not just a battery issue that needs to be addressed, Apple has intently forced us to update our phones in order to make us think that our phones are obsolete and unusable. I was running iOS 9 before I updated to iOS 10.2.1 and my Wi-Fi worked outstandingly perfect. The moment I updated my Wi-Fi connection Was forced to a slow crawl. I have to sit in the same room with my WiFi close to 2 feet away from it before I can get a full strength signal. If I walk even has so far as 12 steps away I immediately drop to one bar. Let’s not talk about walking 20 steps away; at that point in time I’m forced to stay in 4G/LTE mode. After I’ve updated to iOS 10.2.1 I was forced to pay for an unlimited data plan because the Wi-Fi at home does not ******* work.
