iOS 11 - Clock on lock screen disappears

I have a suspicion it’s widget related. I had this problem a lot and I escalated to Apple Support. I tried all manner of restoring my phone and eventually the senior tech told me the issue was known by their engineers and they’re working on it. They’ll call me when they have a solution.

In the meantime, though, I’ve been experimenting with disabling widgets. I figured since the most recent restore attempt had me setup my X as a new iPhone, not restore from backup, it’s likely being caused by an app I downloaded. And since widgets are accessible from the home screen, that might be a cause.

So I tried disabling Find Friends and it didn’t help. BUT I disabled Blackberry Work Calendar, and it’s been a couple days without incident. I’m not sure just yet, but it’s something.

So, what widgets are you all running? Try disabling one at a time, starting with the 3rd party apps. And especially try BB Work if you have it.

BB Work (or I was until I disabled it)

Google Calendar

My Verizon Data

Crime & Place

Apple Batteries

I had this same issue with my iPhone 8 I fixed it by removing some of my widgetets and adjusting my notifications of them. The problem has gone away for several weeks. I think the problem was caused by having a widget without any notifications turned on for that widget. Give this a try, hopefully it Surma for you too

I had updated it to ios11.2.5, and still had the same problem. I did what you suggested just that I had to reboot my iPhone (Thank you!):

Setting —> Display and Brightness —> Text size —> zoom (move the zoom button all the way to the right) —> reboot the iPhone —> the time and signal/battery indicators are back again :) —> go to Display to zoom back the Text size.

Hope Apple can fix this bug soon!

Disable any banking widgets. I haven’t had the problem on my iPhone since November after I disabled the Discover Card widget.

Now for the first time, the problem presented itself on my iPad after I performed the latest iOS update. This problem wasnt reported with the iPad Air 2‘s. I still had the Discover widget on there so I disabled it.

So it was the banking app for you? I had been deleting widgets and noticed when I deleted the banking one everything was ok, then I thought I’d add it back. Was good for a couple days but then acted up again. So deleted banking app again. I hope they fix this! What’s the point of having the widgets if you can’t use them lol

I’ve been having this same problem, I tried everything but I think I have a solution... try changing your background picture, since I’ve done that the clock never disappeared.

I tried removing the banking widgets (discover and PSECU) and then rebooting. So far so good, it’s been 2 days.

I tried to remove every 3rd party widget, even removed some stock widgets - nothing helped except going to 11.1.1 - looks like they’ve finally nailed it.

Are you by chance using a banking widget? Specifically Discover Card widget? If so, try getting rid of that widget. Someone reported three weeks ( and counting). I’m on the sixth day now.

For me the solution was to remove the banking widget from the widget screen. Since I did that, it has never happend.

It is certainly a widget issue. I’ve tried all the other suggestions. The only thing that worked was to remove all 3rd party widgets.

Try to disable all banking widgets, it seems to be the problem.

With mine (iPhone 7) I was able to change the view to zoom, exit, go back and change it again to standard and its been good so far. Maybe not when I reboot but who cares how often do you reboot an iPhone? I'm sure some day it will just start working again much like the BT issue last year on the SEs.

Same for me but if you go to Display & Brightness>Bold Text and just turn that on it doesn’t really do a power but just requires a password. It did the trick just setting it bold then back but we will see. I have the 6SE so this may be the reason for the missing of the zoom.
