IOS 11 incompatible with Honda handsfree bluetooth

Ever since upgrading to IOS 11, my iPhone 6 plus won’t connect with the handsfree bluetooth function in my 2015 Honda CRV. I’ve tried disconnecting, rebooting, etc. Has anyone else experienced a problem with their bluetooth linking in cars?

It is working properly for me with a 6s+.

Have you tried deleting the phone from the list of phones on the car, resetting all settings on the iPhone and then adding the phone back to the list of phones on the car and pairing one more time?

Correct it is the software. I have a 2015 Odyssey and everything was perfect until IOS 10 update. Apple needs to get this fixed immediately it is so annoying. Can’t use any of my voice controls either. I even took it to Honda they did an update and replaced my microphone and I have even upgraded to anew phone. Nothing has made it work and it was working just fine for the past 2 years. The day afte IOS10 is when it got ugly.

I have a iPhone 7plus that I just recently upgraded to iOS 11.2.6...I had the same problem. When I tried to connect my phone to my 2016 Civic, I continually got the message ‘phone not found’. I cleared the several phones that I had connected and saved and started over. First try and I was able to connect with handsfreelink. It now is working perfectly.

My Wife's IPhone 6S is having Bluetooth and Contacts problems with her 2014 Honda Odyssey.

Not only is the Honda phone display acting weird, (not syncing contacts, saying she's on a call when she is not..." but it has also messed with her contacts and how they appear on her iPhone(when not connected to the odyssey).

Her contact list is still intact, but all the numbers have had the "()" and "-" taken out. She can no longer tell who is calling her as it just show's the number, but when you go into her contacts, it shows that number tied to a contact in her address book.

I’m also having this problem with my 2015 Accord EX-L. Very frustrating since I work from my car. I’ve been to the Genius Bar at my local Apple store 5 times already to see if there’s a fix and every time I’m given a different excuse and they’re saying that it’s not an Apple issue but rather a Honda/Acura problem.. I’ve tried syncing my iPhone 7 Plus to my son’s 2016 Toyota Rav4 and having the same problem. I’m now convinced that it’s 100% an Apple issue. Apple, please fix this issue as I’m about ready to abandon your products all together.

Yes, other manufacturers have already released or are working on new firmware. I haven’t heard anything from the three manufacturers you mentioned other than one person posted they had a 2012 Honda and were told it was too old for an update. I know this doesn’t help but we have two iPhone 7’s and one iPhone X and they all connect fine in my 2016 CR-V.

Ever since the latest 11.2.6 Apple update, I’m having the same issue with all 3 auto manufacturers. My phone book syncs but only from A to J.

Example: if your name is Christopher, your name will show as an incoming caller but if your name is Margaret, only the phone number will appear and not the person’s name. And this is the same in all 3 of our family’s vehicles, 2015 Honda Accord, 2016 Toyota Rav4 and 2014 Hyundai Elantra. Very, Very weird and Apple says that it has nothing to do with the latest update, kinda hard to believe.

My wife has been complaining of this same issue in her 2016 Odyssey since upgrading to iOS 11. After reading several threads in this forum, I tried a work iPhone running ios 11.3 beta 4 with a copy of her contact data. I paired it with the car bluetooth and it sync'd perfectly, all contacts etc. No mucking around with deleting contact photos.

Hopefully 11.3 release is soon and fixes this issue. Beta 5 came out this week, so it can't be too much longer.

Just thought I'd share.

I own a 2017 Acura RDX and plagued by the iOS 11 disease on the iPhone. I have spoken to Apple tech support regarding Bluetooth a "zillion" time. Each time I’m told that Apple and Acura are working to remove the issue. As a retired engineer with nearly 40 years experience, in my opinion, it is a meaningless statement. Resotion of the issue can involve, money(hardware), low priority assigned, politics (between auto mfg and Apple) and the list goes on. There’s no sense to speculate, since we know nothing.
