IOS 11 incompatible with Honda handsfree bluetooth

I'm on 11.2.2 and it's not working either. Not in my Honda, nor in my Hyundai. This is an Apple issue!

Read Android discussion boards. They have the exact same issue. This isn’t an iPhone only problem and isn’t going away until car manufacturers adopt some type of standard.

No one has ever denied that it’s the software but the car manufacturers are the ones that need to update their firmware to be compatible with the new software.

Because Honda needs to work with Apple to upgrade their firmware.

Apple and Honda/Acura have been passing the buck since last September. Friday my Samsung Galaxy 9+ arrives. Problem solved.

Oh yes. I've run the gamut of Apple Support and Honda Support suggestions multiple times. The longest it's held the connection has been 10 minutes. The other evening, though, over the course of a seven-mile drive, it paired and almost immediately disconnected more than 2-1/2 times. And yes, I was anal enough to be counting. It's driving me nuts!

I have also tried all these things have a problem with our iPhone 8s and a Honda Odyssey 2015. Our issue is that the connection drops but also the sound on the phone is so staticky you cannot hear anything. Have seen it on all our phones

It's really a shame that many of us are using a $1K phone, that doesn't work in the car. One of the most important places for it to work properly too.

I hope this issue get corrected soon. I really think this is a software issue.

I believe the iPhone software problem is likely a bluetooth problem. The phones used to work properly in the car with iOS 10, so Apple clearly know how to make it work properly...only if they do the right thing for their many, many customers.

What other companies have started issuing fixes? I believe that Apple created this problem and should be responsible to fix the problem for their many, many customers. Clearly Apple know how it should work properly as it worked fine for most users until the 11.0 or 11.03 update.

Very interesting article, Funny how it made mention of my particular car model not working at all.

But I will try some of the things the article said.

But if that doesn't work, I've been looking into a sun visor Bluetooth unit, at least for now, till this gets resolved

I also have tried many of the so called fixes that article mentioned. Nothing has helped at all.

Honda has no clue either. They actually told me to try the same things the article said to do.

I've pretty much given up. After a few minutes my cars display screen is lighting up like a Christmas tree,with the constant on/ off Bluetooth connection. The iPhone X does the same.

Unbelievable I spent $1k on a device that doesn't work with Bluetooth,and might have to buy one of those sun visor mounted Bluetooth units.

Apple really "F"d this up,big time. Can only hope the next version of 11 is better. The current version is a disaster.

I'm having the same issue with the iPhone X and my 2017 Lexus LX570. All was fine with my 7+. This is obviously a major problem with Apple yet as I read these posts they act like they are unaware of this issue.

I have a 2014 Odyssey and recently upgraded to iPhone 8 Plus. My first 8’plus wouldn’t connect to any Bluetooth devices. Apple finally said return it and get a new device so I did. The replacement was checked and it did pair to a Bluetooth speaker in the AT&T store so I left. It still won’t pair to my car though. It won’t even recognize a phone in the car.

I resorted to using the USB port to play music through Spotify but as of today, out of nowhere, that doesn’t even work. I am beyond frustrated. My 2007 cr-v And iPhone 6 had better reliability.
