Apple TV 4K bluetooth range diminished

Just received and setup my new Apple TV 4K today. I regularly use AirPods to listen to the TV while moving around the family room and kitchen at night. As soon as I paired my AirPods with the Apple TV I immediately noticed a huge difference in the range and clarity of the audio signal. I would estimate it is at least half the range as with my previous Apple TV (4th gen).

Nothing else has changed in my setup. I just swapped out the Apple TV. Anyone else noticing a difference? Based on specs (and the upgrade to Bluetooth 5.0) the range should have improved.

Oh ok. Luckily I’ve never had any remote issues just Bluetooth audio.

Have you tired the latest tvOS beta update? Would be good to know if that solves the range issue for you.

No but I'm not really having the issue since moving it. To be honest I'm not using it all that much and have not had time to do much testing, but when I first had the issue it was really obvious.

I have had exactly the same experience. The new HDMI cable from Apple solved everything. I don’t know why, but now it works. No remote lag at all.

Thanks for all the great information on this thread. I bought the new Belkin HDMI cables, and they seem to have solved my remote lag problem as well.
