It’s intermittent - on some calls you can perfectly notice it on others no problem. I have already tried resetting the phone with no success on solving the problem. I’m dealing with the issue since Friday. Very disappointed!
Does anyone has the same problem or knows how to fix it ?
did you inquire with your mobile provider?
iOS 11.0.2 is released, if you have 1GB or more free space you can installed it over Wi-Fi or use iTunes if you are short on free storage

Have you hard rebooted after the update. Someone said that fixes it but I haven’t updated mine yet
I have been having the same issues with iPhone 8. Issues didn't go away with iOS 11.0.1 update. Seems like manufacturing defect as the Apple senior adviser termed it as hardware issue when I reported this issue.
Same problem - Apple support was useless ("please record a memo and listen to it").
Handset > Speakerphone > Handset sometimes works, indicating it's software. 11.1 beta posts in this thread confirm it.
Mine isn't that bad - sounds more like my face rubbing up against phone/case - so it might vary based on parts used.
I sent my iPhone Back to Apple and went to a local shop to buy onther one. The first one i tried had the same problem the second, I’m using now it’s ok so far. This hints that the problem may be hardware related with some batches ok and others with problems
There are many issues with iPhone 8 plus from day one.
After several follow ups with Apple chat and phone support, the Apple advisors were unable to resolve my problem. The sound problems which I observed are,
1. Static sound: both, incoming/outgoing phone and FaceTime calls,
2. Speaker phone: I can hear the other person however the other end person can’t hear me,
3. Voice memo: Record a clip and playing that clip gives the same static noise only, not the recorded voice,
4. Google search and google translate: when I speak using the mike feature available on google, it can’t listen to me,
5. Don’t know if there are any other issues …
Finally, I’ve given the device to local Apple authorised service centre (India-Pune).
They sent the device to Bangalore:) ??
I’m awaiting to hear back.
No need to express my feelings but it is annoying.

I am on iOS 11.1 Public Beta and crackling issue seems to be resolved. I have not heard it since going to pb 11.1 & I have made about 10 calls.
After updating I have made 20 calls. No crackling noise. The earpiece issue seems to be fixed.
The problem was fixed on my phone with the update.
I am having the problem also. iPhone 8 plus att. Some calls do it while others don’t. When it does crackle it’s extrmely annoying. There’s about 22 pages on macrumors post of people having the same problem. Phones been replaced and still have the crackling along with the new update doesn’t fix it.
