iPhone 8 Plus Sound Distortion

This problem can be verified by installing the "Nigth Sky" app. With the background music and click on the names of the stars, pop clipping sounds. I believe that Apple is hiding this problem and does not provide us with a solution.

In the native app photos also happens when playing memories.

It's a shame that this happens in a new terminal.

My iPhone 8 Plus has this problem, too.

The "pop" noise is random. For example, if the "pop" occurred at 1:37 of a song when playing by the loudspeaker, rollback the progress bar, the "pop" will not happen again at 1:37. However, the "pop" will randomly happen later.

In my opinion, this problem may have two reasons. First, software bugs, that will be easy and feasible. Second, defect of electro-magnetic compatibility in the design of the integrated circuits, if so, no solution.

Ouch... if it affects the 7Plus and only started since iOS 11, its definitely a software problem or a software-hardware compatibility issue then.

I got a replacement unit from Apple and its been working so far(bout a month n counting), even done a couple of OS updates and still havent experienced the distortion.

I went to the apple store and the diagnostics came positive so its not a hardware issue its more of a software issue.

By the way, if you turn off keyboard click sounds, it happens less. So this may mean it’s a software problem. And can be fixed by an update??? :/

It won’t happen in Twitter if you turn off the autoplay option. So I think that it would be a software problem...

The same here! I got my 8 plus just a week ago, I had no problem at all until the update software froze my phone. it stuck on the Apple logo page, tried force to restart the phone several times and still the same. Brought it back to the Apple store and got a replacement, then noticed this one has distorted speaker issue, also I can’t hear from the earpiece sometimes. So annoying!

I own iPhone 8 Plus. I installed the iOS 11.1 but I still have a popping sound when someone calls me and slide to answer so the ring stops it makes a “pop”. Also YouTube app when changing videos before video loads it makes a strange pop sound.

Nothing is fixed at latest versions I've tried all of them.. It is not a hardware issue also i think at the speakers because it does the same with headphones plugged in.. If it is a hardware issue it is at the "sound card" of the phone or the"dac"...

I got 2 replaced and still facing the same issue. They told me it might be a software issue, but I am unsure if that's true though. Also some people complained about low microphone volume when talking through the phone.

If you fight with them enough maybe. I will be fighting to get a replacement and I bought it from Apple, they still denied it. 14 day return policy, they will only replace it if apple workers accept that there is a problem. Worker I delt with denied hearing the issue until I left the genius bar.

That is great to hear that you have a device that no longer has the issue.

Apple has told me that exchanges will not be done as of now as the issue is likely to be in replacements.

I have had 4 replacements and all have the issue.

I really wish Apple would solve this as, IMO, the 8 Plus is the best phone ever made by Apple.

I am a bit sour'ed on Apple with how they have handled my situation but I truly do the issue is resolved for the people who have the issue. I am personally frustrated but I also recognize that Apple makes some of the best products in the world and has some of the best service in the world.

Wrong, 11.2.1 does not fix the distortion. I'm on it now and its popping a lot. Please Apple, this is clearly a software issue

Not yet, I’m going back soon but other people I know have gotten a new one and it seems to be fine
