iPhone 8 bluetooth issues

My new iPhone 8 is having all kinds of wonkiness with bluetooth. It refused to pair with my AirPods, repeatedly dropped connection to my 2016 car, routinely loses connection with my series 1 watch and refused to connect to unlock my laptop (all things that I had no issues with before moving over from my iPhone 6). Apple support told me to erase all content, reset and go through a reinstall from a backup (and all the password re-entry etc.) which I did wasting a couple hours of my day. Their remote diagnostic said bluetooth was fine and some of my apps (none to be named) had problems necessitating this restoration from backup. Needless to say, the issue does not seem solved. Anyone else having bluetooth issues with the iPhone 8? All of these bluetooth connectivity issues worked flawlessly on the 6 (with iOS11 and all prior iterations I had) so I may just sent the 8 back and live w/ my 3 year old battery for a while longer.....

I have 11.3.1 Still the same bluetooth problem. The phone bounces between bluetooth and speaker phone.

I have to turn the bluetooth off completely. And then phone bounces between the headset and the speaker phone.

Apple screwed up again.

Sorry about your issues. Try mixing digital hearing aids into the mix and you’ll understand why I have a flat forehead from beating my head against the wall. I have talked to so many people at Apple and Verizon. Absolutely useless! I’ve gone and met with a couple of different genii at the stores. Again, absolutely useless. Apple doesn’t really care. They’ve gotten too big and now they simply do not care about us little problems. I have started posting on Twitter every day warning folks NOT to buy the 8 or 8+, and not to go with Verizon. As soon as I can get out of my commitment with Verizon I am so done with Apple. I’m thinking about going Samsung. At any rate, my condolences to you. I feel your pain!

My wife just got her iPhone 8 and is having similar issues with her Honda. So, two different cars and similar problem in our family...

Having the same problem with an Iphone 8 11.0.2 and a 2015 Honda Odyssey - please fix!

I actually do think it is car specific. My 8 and my wife’s 8 work perfectly on my Honda Accord - but do not work on our 2015 Honda Odyssey.

I and many other iphone 8 owners have the same problem, the issue is what Apple support is going to do for this expensive Rolls Royce of the smart phones.

I contacted Apple and they said there is no fix! This is outrageous. Surely they are in breach as a major function of the phone doesn’t work?

Still not working for me.

Connects ok - but once disconnected the auto connect kicks in and then drops.

I doubt they can fix this.

It’s one big Fk up!

Negative. My calls using Bluetooth in my car still sound like C3PO having a stroke. And that’s POST iOS 1.0 update. So lame...

Same issue with bluetooth and a 2017 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. iPhone 8 BT floods in and out IPhone 6 with latest IOS 11 as the 8 works fine.
