Iphone 8 plus low call volume

Is there a clear plastic protector covering the face of the phone? I felt really dumb when I realized that was the case with my volume when on calls. I kept the cover on when I bought the phone, but it covers the earpiece.

I had same issue on my iphone 8 plus and took it to istore. The person checked and said the earpiece is faulty and i should take it to service center. So i took it to service center. Turned out the issue was micro-dust particles clogging the earpiece. The guy cleaned it with a brush and it worked great afterwards!!

Solution!!! No joke, I cut the earpiece screen open with a razor....back to normal! I grew very tired of taking the thing in to the store for them to only offer to send it off. I realized that it’s the screen over the earpiece speaker getting clogged with dust. I cleaned with a toothbrush several times, which helped some. It reached a point where it no longer helped. So I just cut an opening in the earpiece screen and it’s back to factory! I’m sure I’ve ruined the waterproofing and any warranty, but atleast I have a phone that works like it’s supposed to, considering the price. Judge me if you will, but atleast I didn’t toss in over the hill out of frustration while driving, which would have been a total loss...and littering by throwing out “garabage” and new phone purchase.

Hi. Had the exact same for two weeks. Purchased a cheap soft toothbrush and gently cleaned the speaker....PERFECT!!!! No issues with this phone but obviously got grime in the speaker. All calls are perfectly clear now!!

So I was having the same trouble until I realized the plastic I left on (I was being cheap and using it as a screen protector) was covering the receiver. Sound is much much clearer now

I had the same problem... turns out it’s the screen protector that it comes with that is blocking the speaker

I had the same problem. The Apple genius’s applied the screen protector over the ear speaker!

Like many others I too experienced low volume on telephone calls whereas utube, iTunes etc all produced satisfactory volume. Despite checking all settings to no avail I ended up with an Apple Guru. To my embarrassment the solution was so simple - just turn up the volume control (top LHS of the phone)

I had not appreciated the volume setting on this phone is unique to each app!! It is so easy to accidentally operate the volume controls when gripping the phone for a call.

The iPhone 8+ problem with telephone volume was readily resolved for me. The volume control seems to work independently for each app so just check volume is turned up in telephone mode. It worked well for me! The phone is performing perfectly. Good luck

I suggest you check that the volume control is not being inadvertently operated during the call. My volume problems related to this. The phone is now operating satisfactorily

the dealer replaced the screen with microphones and ear piece all is good now

Took our 8+ in to a Mac dealer and was told after doing a mic test that it was series of faulty mics that require a screen replacement, I think that the speaker (ear piece) is faulty and the mics are not registering the sound as a result.

The phone was left for a screen or phone replacement we will have a result in a few days I hope

I did face the same issue! However the solution I found out is very simple... I phone is an exceptional manufacturer and they wouldn’t miss out on a simple thing like a Call volume... Therefore, all we need to do it..either remove the Apple screen guard that it originally comes with or perhaps make a tiny hole at the top where the call volume is located.. it is blocked that’s why!! Pretty simple unless I found it!!

Setting/Music/Volume Limit

Shut it off. Adjust volume fix the issue.

Apple tech support doesn’t know this fix.
