Iphone 8 Home Screen Frozen

I had same issue as mentioned on iphone 8+ . after attempting to hard restart for 15 min, it finally recognized the process mentioned above to hard reset- (volume up quick, volume down quick, and hold power button for 15 seconds!) all functions came back after reset.

Worth mentioning that i had acess to my "widgets screen" and could lock and unlock phone. my messages app was "greyed" out like i had touched, but couldnt open anything else. could respond to txts via their notifcations window and use siri but nothing else.

Briefly push the volume up button.

Then briefly push the volume down button.

The push and hold the power button for 10 seconds, until the “apple” appears.

Wait about a minute and power up.

Delete the app that caused the screen freeze.

Mine was Yahoo sports .

This does not work for me. Ive tried this and connecting to to iTunes. The hepatic response is active on the home button but the screen is perpetually black and no reset trick has worked. any further suggestions?

OK mine was similar but al little different as it happened when I activated the phone. I had to press up, press down and press the power and home button and hold them for about 30 seconds. This only seemed to work when it was plugged in to my computer.

iPhone wont restart or force restart at all. This is not really helpful as I'm sure most of us with this problem already know how to force restart and not has not worked.

This did not work at all for me until I held down the fingerprint button at the same time I was holding down the side button. Then it worked right away.

I had the same problem too and this solution works. But it's just ridiculous that Apple has released iOS with such bugs. Seems like there is a mutation in Apple DNA.

The same thing happened to me! I've tried everything. You are locked out of your phone till it dies. That's the only solution.

this is not working for me all it is doing is turning the volume up and down any other options?
