Iphone 8 Home Screen Frozen

My 6s has done this a few times since the update, so my guess is a software issue. I’ve had to wait until the battery dies and restart it, as my volume button and home button work, but pressing them together just brings up Siri

just happened to me. took much patience and several tries to get it to restart. finally restarted after holding the down volume and power button for probably 15 seconds. only after trying the other methods and accidentally dialing 911

I'm facing the same problem here, and i did force my iPhone 8 to restart. But instead of the apple logo appears the emergency SOS appears, which ***** actually my iPhone 8 is frozen for like 2 days now. And i tried to do anything but still doesn't work.

All...I have all of the problems with my 8plus as described above. I have received two new phones and have the same issues. Only gets fixed when I hard restart; apple has told me that it's probably a third party app and they need to update. Let's all try to stay on top of this with Apple as I think the amount of money we spend, they should be able to resolve this issue for us .

Yahoo sports was the offending icon, it was a Yahoo email sign on notification.

I erased their App.

The same thing happened to me! I've tried everything. You are locked out of your phone till it dies. That's the only solution.

Having the same issue here, just that mine was the phone call icon greyed out. Received my phone on 6 oct and this issue been happening since 9 oct, nothing can be done other than force shut down. It’s IPhone 8 plus, iOS 11.0(15A372). Please help to resolve this issue.

It happened again today and I called apple and they were not really helpful just gave generic instructions. The guy said as long as the phone is working now he doesnt need to do anything. This is just sloppy support from apple.

Keep calling and ask for an escalation senior advisor!!! Or customer relations!!! We as Apple consumers must let Apple know about how unhappy we are with the product they have out !!! We pay too much money and lately their seems to be more and more issues !!!! I’ve been having the same issues and now I’m speaking with the higher ups !! But we all need to call about this !!! Steve Jobs would be ashamed of some of the issues that are now starting to happen with Apple !! I’ve been a big fan for a long time , now it seems they are getting sloppy and greedy

I'm having the same problem but nothing at all works, i can not hard reset or restore as i need to turn off find my iphone and i can't turn it off as my phone frozen, pretty much a waste of money.

Was going to take it into apple and see what they say ?

okay so today is the 17th of November and i updated my phone to the 11.1.2 and i woke up to use my phone and all sudden it froze with my message greyed out and i didn't know what to do either luckily i found this and I'm not the only one having problem what do we do about this and do i take my phone into apple and tell them about this problem??

so what do i do anyone have advice for me

I am having the issue as well. Iphone 7 iOS 11.1.2. Mine seemed to start with the iOS 11.1.2 update. Thanks for the reboot process, it worked. But we still need to get this resolved, I can't keep having to reboot my phone. Apple needs a fix ASAP!!!

Oh also love how you have to Two authenticate with your phone to log into this support thread, lol, so if my phone doesn't work how am I supposed to do this. LOL.

This does not work for me. Ive tried this and connecting to to iTunes. The hepatic response is active on the home button but the screen is perpetually black and no reset trick has worked. any further suggestions?
