Iphone 8 Home Screen Frozen

I woke up this morning to a frozen home screen on my iPhone 8 64 gb. The alarm went off like normal, and I could remove notifications from my lock screen, as well as swipe into the camera.

However when I unlocked my phone, I could not click on any of the app icons, with the mail icon greyed out like I had clicked it. I could open the control center, which worked like normal except that it wouldn't let me into the calculator or camera apps. I cannot swipe left to the notifications or right to the 2nd page

I tried force restarting, which didn't restart the phone. I held the down volume and power button for over a minute.

What can I do? Withforce restart not working do I have to wait for the battery to drain and then recharge?

Thank you so much! I was trying the other suggestions but only this one worked on my iPhone 6

volume up increases volume

volume down decreases volume

right side power button does nothing

None of the solutions worked and my phone froze like ******* 10 times, I had to drain the battery every single time.

I'm having the same problem as well and it is November 5, 2017 on Sunday. Also the same problem like you and my screen just froze.

You have to press the volume up button then the volume down button the. Press and hold the power button until the Apple logo. Also makes sure you do the most current update. This solved my prob

Yes tried this won't work, tried it in lock screen, tried it with screen unlocked. nothing at all happens

If you have an iPhone model earlier then 8, you must hold down the power and home button at the same time until Apple logo

I’ve had my iPhone 8p only a couple weeks. Already it’s freezing, and calling SOS emergency when I try to get it going again. This is a brand new phone what must I do?

I just had this happen too!

To fix it, I used Siri to turn on TouchAssist. I then tapped the circle, clicked 'device', 'more', then 'restart'. Hallelujah my phone rebooted and is fine now!! Phew!

I have also this problem. I can't open any apps from the homescreen, even not with Siri or notifications. i can't update my phone( it gives error 4003). I have a Iphone SE.

Can anyone help me?

I found I really had to hold and wait, well over 10 seconds. I had tried many times to reset, and it wasn't until I just held on for a count of 20 or so that it finally reset.
