Iphone 8 plus wireless charging problem

I have an Iphone 8 plus on IOS 11.0.1 now Whenever my phone get full charged on wireless charging, it always showed recharging indicator and beep sound (that seems like disconnect and reconnect). This only happen when my phone fully charged. I have tested out in 3 pads and get same result (doesn’t happen on my galaxy s8 - i use samsung, and nokia original qi wireless charging pad) . Any solution for this?

I had a similar problem. The charging would start and stop frequently when I wirelessly charged my iPhone 8+, (11.2).

I changed out the power supply for a third party 29watt power adapter, and the problem went away.

As Qi is not an apple protocol, the use of high priced apple products is not required.

Thanks god. I am getting very tired tof that rippoff.

I can confirm that it is likely a problem with iOS at this point, since I've tried several different QI chargers that all seem to show this issue but only with iPhone. It's odd and happens infrequently so it is very hard to pin down to a certain amount of time after full charge, for example. Tough when your phone wakes you up from the night stand, even with do not disturb on! The only solution seems to be to flip the hardware switch to quiet on the side of the phone when charging. I suspect that apple's QI driver isn't fully baked and will improve with time.

I am using a Belkin F8M747bt Qi charger (not the expensive one from the Apple store) in combination with an iPhone X (iOS 11.2.1). I have also the issue that when the iPhone is fully charged, the Belkin keeps indicating that it is charging (flashing green led), while it should go to steady green. Also the battery indicator on the Phone is still containing the flash symbol at 100%.

The Belkin manual states:

Qi device is detected.

Solid – fully charged.

NOTE: Your device must support a full battery communication to the base station for the LED to turn solid. Otherwise, check the Full battery indicator on your smartphone.

Blinking – charging in progress.

My conclusion is that the current iOS versions are not supporting this communication (yet) or the phone is failing to detect the correct level to send this command to the basestation. Other Phones are probably doing this right already.

I hope it will be solved by an iOS update. Even it is just a little bit annoying.

Hi brian

That’s not how the wireless charging worked

I use it from 2012 since Lumia 920, usually if the phone is fully charged only the indicator light will showed it to you not the phone

In this case the phone keep disconnect and reconnect to charging (samsung convertible pad). So many friends here are facing the same issue with that pad.

I have problems with a couple of different chargers but I see to have it working OK now.

I have an old charger that came with my Nexus 4 phone. The iPhone would inidicate it was charging when on the pad but wouldn't charge.

A second charger is a home made one with electronics I bought on Amazon. It works fine on my Android phones. With the iPhone, the charging would connect and disconnect constantly like other have described.

Someone suggested charging with the phone turned off, which actually works. Oddly, after I turn the phone off, it turns itself on once I place it on the charger, but then successfully charges to 100%.
