I am having the same issue.
I have several different Qi-certified chargers that work flawlessly with other Android devices, but this iPhone 8 Plus works in some weird way. Depending on the wireless chargers' features, "charging" indicator is always on even though it's 100% fully charged (None of the Android phones I have does that).
Or if the wireless charger has a feature such as "breathing LED" while charging, the LED is always on while it's supposed to stop when fully charged.
Or for some chargers, iPhone keeps turning its screen on and off endlessly once it's fully charged.
I recently replaced the unit and testing out the new one. Before returning it, I have tried everything: factory reset (from both on the phone itself and through iTunes), removing case, DFU restore, and trying higher Watts charger. Nothing worked. All the Qi chargers are Qi-certified and I want to emphasize that they all have been working perfectly fine for other phones.
It's going to take a few days to test it out, and I will have you updated. Even Genius Bar guys had no idea even though I showed them the recorded video of the symptom. I am going to try one of the two chargers Apple suggested to use, but if it works, while other chargers don't, it would mean that iPhone 8/Plus is not really Qi-certified - full return for me if that's the case.
I really hope it's just a software issue and Apple updates it along with 7.5 watts charge support.
I don't think not many people actually tried wireless charging with their iPhone 8/Plus yet, and that's why this issue is not well-known yet. If anyone reading this has iPhone 8/Plus working perfectly fine with third-party Qi-charger (not one of the two Belkin and mophie ones), please let us know which product it is.
