Can't edit or share my iPhone photos

No doesn't help or apply. My experience is 11.1 causes the issue. Photo's go to icloud unauthorized by the owner of the photos, fills up icloud 5Gigs fast, you get a warning and a threat from icloud/apple @4.90 Gigs allowed by apple/icloud-to either pay $1.98 at first or they will delete your property (the photos). To get your photos back you must take the no-choice option they require and log in to icloud by paying the $1.98 to download the photos you own held for ransom they literally stole.

IOS 11 is a crap. Apple has released the worst OS since Windows ME and won't own up to all the BS they are putting their users through. Someone said Apple fixed this issue with IOS 11.2.1 and maybe they did... but I am willing to bet my phone they messed something else up in the process.

Sorry -- you're missing the point of the issue -- the image can only be displayed, but you can't edit it, you can't text it, you can't email it, you can't copy it, etc. The only thing you can do is to take a screen shot of it and then edit out the extraneous stuff in the screen shot, which is a poor workaround.

I have the same problem - especially if I try to edit several photos in a row. Now too the new Edit options are no longer showing available. Can you Edit your Live Photo’s to boomerang or the others?

I am experiencing the same problem. Some photos are editable and some are not. No pattern, very random. I am running iOS 11.2.1 on an iPhone 7plus. Have you gotten a good answer on how to resolve this? I have tried every one of the suggestions listed in this thread and not of it has fixed my issue.

This exact thing is happening to me. Take a photo, can edit. Take another, can’t edit. Take another, can.

I’m taking pics of the same thing, a page of text.

When I take a pic and successfully edit it, I go back to a previously uneditable pic, thinking maybe I’ve hooked back to iCloud or something but the previous pic is still not editable.

I’m on LTE.

I have that problem too. For me the most painful part that these photos are not life. I'm making lots of life-photos. It's completely different genre so still-image part does not make any sense without video part. It's very frustrating when I catch the rare moment hoping it will be recorded few seconds before and after but instead I'm getting this stupid still image with grayed out buttons.

Something terribly wrong inside Apple if they year after year deliver software which just does not work 😟

Same problem, definitely since iOS 10, maybe even as far as iOS 9.

Never gotten any consistent fix for this. If anything, it’s gotten worse.

If I take a photo of something, it stays unavailable for editing/sharing for a long period, but a screenshot of said photo is immediately available 😕

Bizarre

I just got a new ipad with ios11.1 and now I cannot edit some cartoon images I save (e.g., from dilbert.com) — “Edit” is grayed out. Photos (old and new) from my ipad work fine, as do photos saved from online sites (e.g. nytimes.com). Screenshots of the troubled cartoons can be edited, but not the saved mage of the cartoon.

I assume it’s related to file format. This was not a problem with my old ipad n ios10.3.

Any ideas?

There is a difference between answering a question and promoting a competing product. "Try it out and beath easier," reads like a marketing tagline that someone paid to make comments by Google would include.

It's unhelpful, even insulting, to tell try and sway me to Google Photos by telling me not to use Apple Photos. You're doing exactly the opposite of what you intend.

I do wish apple would stop sending out bugs with every IOS and also insist that you must upgrade to it. But this is not that bug

This is NOT solved. Just upgraded my Phone X to ios11.3 and the same problem continues.

Apple: please!!!!! Improve the quality of the software you push out. The overall quality is decreasing rapidly. I'm so disappointed!!!

I’m w you.... literally chose this phone w the most space available for pics.... school for me, though. And Live Photo’s was super because children are never still! I hope they update the updated update and fix this soon 🙄

Oh my goodness, I go back and forth so much taking pics of the kiddos @ school... I would NEVER have thought of that!!! I will have to pay attention... annoying, but it will have to do till they fix this! Fingers crossed this works!

I am facing same problem right now past 3 days , I edit my photo and using other edit photo app after saving it, the photo come back to normal form. It’s just not helpful for me.

So if it possible to solve issues faster it can be helpful
