If I'm understanding correctly, you are having trouble sending videos to your wife's Android phone. I will be happy to help.
Check out the following steps to see if it helps from our article: If you can‘t send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Try these steps first
- Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
- Check your network connection. To send a message as iMessage or MMS, you need a cellular data or Wi-Fi connection. To send an SMS message, you need to have a cellular network connection. If you turn on Wi-Fi Calling, you can send SMS messages over Wi-Fi.
- Check with your carrier to see if the type of message you’re trying to send, like MMS or SMS, is supported.
- If you’re trying to send group MMS messages on an iPhone, go to Settings > Messages and turn on MMS Messaging. If you don't see an option to turn on MMS Messaging or Group Messaging on your iPhone, then your carrier might not support this feature.
- Make sure that you entered the correct phone number or email address for the contact.
Same here! Very annoying. In fact you can no longer text video to any type of smartphone except iPhones.
As annoying as this answer is, it prompted my Android-using Mom to get the IPhone 8 so she can get videos of her grandson. Apple is sneaky and genius.
Didn't help me either, Can't send videos period, could before ios 11. Not happy

I'm having the exact same problem, and it's infuriating. I noticed there was a secondary update after the initial large update, but no fixes.
I figured it out. If you go into your camera settings and turn off 4K recording... you can now send video sms messages. I guess 4K videos are too blare for sms messages.
Sadly mine isn’t on 4K and I am still not able to send 😢
I’m having the same issue but I’m not shooting in 4K. It’s also been ever since the new updaa
I have the same problem. None of my family has an apple device and now they can only hear the audio anytime I send a video. I tried changing the camera setting back to jpeg but that didn’t fix it.
I checked my video settings and was at 1080p at 30fps and I switched it to 1080p at 60fps to see if it made a difference and it did. I sent a test MMS to an android and it went through.
I switched to 1080p at 60fps and was able to send a 20 second video. When I was at 30fps I couldn't send videos at all

I’m having the same problem and I didn’t have this problem before the update. I’ve checked all the settings and nothing is working. Help please!!!
I noticed the problem too, i was able to send a video using the messages app on my mac tho.
