I had the same issue after I wiped the drive on my MacBook Pro. When you wiped the drive you selected the wrong format. All you need to do is simply go to disk utilities and erase the drive again, but this time select APFS (Encrypted) rather than just APFS. You may now click Reinstall macOS High Sierra. Side note, make sure you have internet connection in your status bar.
For those of us that have no clue how to do that, can you explain it in layman’s terms?
did not work tried sveral times it gets pretty close completing download then fails each time.
Do you have an OS still installed?
Make sure your WiFi is on and running.
In the end reinstalled From backup Sadly installed the problems was trying to get rid of now I cannot type properly think it could be A software prob so am using my old iPad to type...😕
Thank YOU!
It was date and time reset!
How does Apple not know this?
Love!
This was the solution that worked for me as well - tried date / time, recovery mode, internet recovery, and a new user finally worked!
Go back to terminal and try this command
csrutil disable
reboot
its just change the date by going to terminal on the recovery page! put the month, date, hour and year like that: 1121175217
AND ITS DONE , TRY TO INSTALL AGAIN
This actually fixed the issue immediately.
This worked for me! Thank you very much.
This worked perfectly. Thanks so much!
When I go to terminal all it has is:
-bash-3.2#
What do I do?
You just need to make sure you reconnect the laptop to the Wi-Fi. It will disconnect to the wifi network in your house after you erase the utility disk
You are brilliant. No idea how you figured this out, but it worked. Caveat: It only worked when I used UTC date/time (not my local date/time), thanks to the advice of another poster.
