I had the same issue after I wiped the drive on my MacBook Pro. When you wiped the drive you selected the wrong format. All you need to do is simply go to disk utilities and erase the drive again, but this time select APFS (Encrypted) rather than just APFS. You may now click Reinstall macOS High Sierra. Side note, make sure you have internet connection in your status bar.
This worked for me as well, pretty strange 😎 thanks Jo
I had the same issue. No luck upon many retries. Same error message. What worked for me was simply restarting the computer. Not a techie guy! Glad the easy street worked for me.
Been having this issue and then realised I was no longer connected to the internet. Chose my connection, had to put in password again, and it started downloading!
Hello! I had the same problem. I connected to the wifi connection and then this problem was solved for me.
looks like your problem is different from the topic, judging by your problems you have a slow internet connection, do a speed test and see what you come up with
Thank you. That solved it. Replaced the SSD and did a PARM reset and that may have clobbered my date, which was correct earlier today.
In the Utilities menu, launch Terminal.
Then run: `ntpdate -u time.apple.com`
This will update the system time. Once I did that, it worked for me.
This totally worked!
I was stuck with the same problem for 2 days!
Just as Desmet said, I used the terminal to set the current date and time and it worked!
I kept attempting to reset my laptop and was having the same issue. I just had to log into my WiFi and it started working. Hope this helps? :-)
Thanks.
Setting to the correct time and date fixed the first error message issue
Hi friend... in what time zone should I set ? From where I purchased or from UTC?
Wi-fi is available, however, you’ll find the fastest (and likely most secure) connection will be found by directly connecting your machine using an Ethernet cable directly to your modem (or router).
I clicked on the wifi logo on the top right of the screen and joined my network, seems to be downloading the OS fine now
This is very helpful I just tried this method use not my Time zone but the UTC time zone and it
Make sure that your internet have connected.
