iphone 8 plus wifi issues

is anyone having problems where wifi keeps dropping out and back on on iphone 8plus? i know it’s not the WiFi connection in the house as no issues for anyone else in the house running phones, streaming films etc.

I have the same issue. Wifi keeps on dropping especially while streaming videos. This is really annoying and the troubleshooting steps you provide is not helping. I am not sure if this is a bug from the recent iOS update or some kind of hardware issue that this needs to be checked/verified by Apple Tech support.

I keep on calling Apple Help Desk for this issue but the line was busy.

FYI - its not with the router coz mine, its just besides me.

I’m having a different set of wifi issues. My wifi on my 8 Plus says it’s connected, but none of my apps register the wifi connection.

Plex says connect to wifi to sync even though I am connected.

Reeder won’t cache images because it thinks I am not connected to wifi.

The only way to fix it seems to shut off cellular data then suddenly it will work over wifi.

I have 8 Plus with plenty of wifi issues. I notice it the most when using airplay as I like to use Pandora over airplay to an airport express hooked up to my bose speakers. It has become the most frustrating and irritating thing. I usually need to disable wifi and close all apps a number of times before I can stream to my airport express, then if I get a phone call, when the call is over the connection is dead and have to go through a long process to get it back. Likewise if I leave the room and go outside and return, the connection is dead and go through process again. SO frustrating. It used to just work always. Many things used to just work. Starting to lose faith.

I JUST bought the iphone 8, and this is happening to me too. It's frustrating when you spend good money on an expensive product only to have it do this. Apple, get your you-know-what together and remedy this issue. Please. I'm becoming more and more frustrated with the quality of your products and services, and I've been loyal to you for so freaking long.

I’ve the same issue. On the same network I’m using iPad, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and I used iPhone 7 too. Only the iPhone 8 is having this problem, mainly the issue is happening when the phone is swlitching to the repeater or back to the main router; iPhone 8 is not getting the IP address and I’ve to switch off the WiFi and reactivate it. This is very frustrating.

I already restore the iPhone 8 as new phone (no backup) and the issue it’s the same.

@Apple, what we can do? Hopping it’s not an hardware problem are you working to release a fix?

I’m having the same issue on my 8 plus. Shows as connected to Wi-Fi but apps don’t work such as whatsapp.

I have to disable Wi-Fi on phone and re enable then works for a while.

I’m on Sky Q but all other devices are fine, including multiple other iOS devices.

Please fix this Apple! I’m tempted to move back to Android.

I got a replacement iphone8plus from Apple and I still have the same issue. When I’m near to the router there’s WiFi connection and when I’m far from the router there is WiFi connection. I’ve never had and don’t have this issue with any of my other divices.

There must be a design fault in the iPhone 8plus and I think Apple should give a partial refund to compensate!

I opened a case with Apple, followed below steps which worked for me.

Installed 11.2 yesterday through phone (don’t upgate through phone).

Steps

1. Take a phone backup on computer through iTunes

2. Restore phone (iPhone 8 Plus) through iTunes In desktop. It was approximately 2.75GB

3. One done, setup the phone as a new iPhone. Don’t restore from backup at this point.

4. Once all the phone setup done, restore the backup taken in step 1.

5. All done... earlier my wifi speed was showing ~8mbps. Now it is showing ~40mbps

I hope this will help!!
