iphone 8 plus wifi issues

I have the same issue. Wifi keeps on dropping especially while streaming videos. This is really annoying and the troubleshooting steps you provide is not helping. I am not sure if this is a bug from the recent iOS update or some kind of hardware issue that needs to be checked/verified by Apple Tech support.

I keep on calling Apple Help Desk for this issue but the line was busy.

Yeh I have had issues ever since I done a iOS update the WiFi does connect but keeps dropping , I have been told by my provider to go to the Apple shop - the joys! Only had this phone a few weeks I am now wondering if I should change my phone maybe the 7plus won’t have these issues?

I have the same problem with my 8plus. Every time I leave my house my phone doesn’t connect back to my WiFi when I get back. I would have to reset my network to reconnect. I’ve called Apple and they replaced my phone and I’m having the same issue. I have the 64 gigs and my daughter has the 240gigs 8plus and she has no issues.

I had only been on iPhone 6s before this, and older iPads and iPod touches, and had never heard of this. I only recently bought an iPhone 8.

Though thru my googling, I suspect iPhone 7 people will also have this problem where the iOS upgrade left them and iPhone 8 people with their preferred networks with NOT auto-join.

I have 8 Plus with plenty of wifi issues. I notice it the most when using airplay as I like to use Pandora over airplay to an airport express hooked up to my bose speakers. It has become the most frustrating and irritating thing. I usually need to disable wifi and close all apps a number of times before I can stream to my airport express, then if I get a phone call, when the call is over the connection is dead and have to go through a long process to get it back. Likewise if I leave the room and go outside and return, the connection is dead and go through process again. SO frustrating. It used to just work always. Many things used to just work. Starting to lose faith.

Yeh, I’ve the same problem...everytime I leave a room and it connects to another booste, same network it freezes....wife has a iPhone 7 ,iPad and a iPod touch and they have no problem 😬😬sort ya stuff out apple, this clearly is a software problem

I got a replacement iphone8plus from Apple and I still have the same issue. When I’m near to the router there’s WiFi connection and when I’m far from the router there is WiFi connection. I’ve never had and don’t have this issue with any of my other divices.

There must be a design fault in the iPhone 8plus and I think Apple should give a partial refund to compensate!

This is IDENTICAL to my situation. All worked fine before. The iPhone8 is the problem, not the other hardware. My iPhone6s worked happily on that network alongside iPad, macbook, Sky Q, Sonos, etc. No issues at all.

I swap 6s for 8 and all **** is let loose.

Same issue since buying the IPhone 8. Happens at home, work and various other places. As soon as the phone goes to sleep and then you wake it up through touch id, wifi has gone. Manually have to switch wifi off and on again to reconnect. Had various ios11 updates since purchase, still no fix. So irritating. Just an iPhone 8 issue as in our home we have an iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, ipad pro, ipad mini, ipad 5s and they all work fine on the latest versions of ios available.

I am having the same issue. Wifi will just drop out. Have to toggle Airplane mode or restart phone to get it to come back. I hope they figure this out. I just upgraded.

I've also noticed it only happens on my home network which is Verizon and airport extreme. It does not drop at work where the network is not apple routers and wifi.

I can also confirm that 5 GHz remains as an issue even with iOS 11.2 that was released today.

Just bought mine and it never stays connected to WiFi, it turns off and on. Inconsistent for any multimedia.
