Iphone 7 plus blurry screen when using phone mode

Nov 6 now 12 days without the blurry screen since I did the factory reset toscratch etc etc....

also applied the 11.1.1 update....just repeating to let all know.. may still happen again.. will post weekly now...

A friend of mine just came to me with this problem. While I believe the issue is related to the IOS V11 update(s), the remedy for her phone was a simple one. She is notorious for leaving apps open as opposed to closing them. Over time, she'll have 8 or more concurrent apps open, sometimes much more. This gobbles up iPhone memory and the problem manifests itself via a blurry phone display. Once we closed all of her apps, she reloaded the phone app and has been good ever since. It has only been a few days, and the issue hasn't resurfaced, so I can't say that this is the magical cause/fix everyone is seeking, but so far so good for her. I hope this is helpful to others.

Restarting by removing SIM card & turning phone off, then back on only works temporarily. It goes back to blurriness & I haveto keep performing this same procedure each time. I believe we have had this phone less than a year & blurriness issue did not begin until after the last I-phone update approximately a month ago ( I believe). Please advise on what I should do nefore returning to store.

My other half she is notorious for leaving apps open all the time. I now tell her to shut them down all the time(since the factory reset/restore). I do seem to remember (?) though that she still got the fuzzy screen once but we are now up to 12 days and no fuzzzzzz

apple support would tell you to do a factory reset then install the latest ios 11. you should get the latest version. do not install the 11.0 and all the other updates. should all be one install only.

Yes, restart solves the issue, but just for a few hours, the longest period has been overnight. Why don’t the Apple people fix this problem? There are enough of us out here who all have the same experience. Things like this never happened when Steve was running Apple!

Have you contacted Apple to tell them of this problem? The more people that they hear from the more likely it will get fixed. Make sure to tell them about this discussion.

My 7+ 11.0.3 has only done it once in the six weeks that I have owned it. I keep 4-10 apps open all the time.

What are the stats on your phone?

Thanks for the helpful hints. It’s happening on my wife’s iPhone 7 Plus with 32k; I use an iPhone 7 Plus with 256k, and have not experienced the same problem. It very well may have to do with number of apps open in background. I’ll check to see hwmany apps she has one next time it happens.

have now gone since Nov 5 and no problems. started on her new Iphone 8... every 1-3 days...

back up data

restore to factory settings

install latest ios complete install.... not bits and pieces

then let itunes do the install of files etc from backup

no problems to date. 24 days.(lets hope this continues) Iphone 8

It worked for us. plus one more thing no proof, but I also make sure my other half does not have too many open windows....

10:30 am this morning my wife's Iphone 8 screen went blurry again after 28 days. I asked her to see how many apps were open. She tends to keep them all open.... it takes a re boot and she is up and running again... with no blurry screen.

sorry guys...

on to looking at other solutions...

I manage about 70-75 iPhones where I work and I have had 5 people in the last month complain about this. So far I have had 6s, 7, and 8 do it. All have at least iOS 11 on it, different updates of iOS 11 at least. This has to be an iOS 11 issue then, right? I've told people to just swipe up and kill app and reopen which is the quick fix, but but reading this forum and others it looks like this is a pretty big issue, no?

Has anyone gotten an answer from Apple regarding this in a forum or in store?

I called them and the person said that she would pass the info on and if they think that the problem is big enough they would work it. I’ve posted several times for people to contact Apple support but no one has posted back that they have done it

The blurrieness has happened to me once in phone and several times in music.

Same here. It's happened 3 times on my i8plus. It is not a hardware issue/natural blurred screen that I can tell.

It generally happens when I attempt to go to my voicemail page. It appears to be the same blurry backdrop apple created to be used behind the options menu when you swipe up from the main screen. When it appears overlayed on the call options screen (without obvious cause) it locks me out of all my voice call options. All my other screens work to include texting while this occurs.

Restarting the phone and/or closing the call app do fix it. It is still a very annoying problem however.

Because number one, we're all fellow users here, and number two, it simply isn't happening to most people.
