How do I remove the music player from the lock screen in iOS 11?
I need to see my notifications. I don't use the music player... I will NEVER use the music player. It's taking up valuable real estate.
Thanks!

I'm confused. The Music player on the lock screen, only appears if you are actively playing something when you turn on the screen. If you have not been playing anything, or pause it and unlock the iPhone and then turn off the iPhone, the playback section should disappear. It will not disappear if you just pause from the lock screen and turn if off.
Otherwise its not there, and you just need to swipe up to get the notifications.
However, you'll always need to swipe up to see notifications though, and they'll take over the space used by the playback controls any way even if they are there. Notifications are no longer shown directly in the lock screen, and need to be revealed by swiping up regardless.
Do you have a solution to this?
I'm also seeing this issue and it was reported on reddit as well:

Correction: the note that states it’s not removable is not posted anywhere on the screen; it was posted else where. You can do a search to confirm.
I did the shut off / restart and it went away, but like others here have said, it comes back, even though I had previously deleted the iMusic app too.
Try opening Settings then use the search box and type in ”Show Apple Music”. That should take you right to the correct page.
I turned my phone off, then back on. Then went to settings—>notifications—> turned off notifications for music. It worked!
Did you turn off all notifications? And lastly “allow notifications”. Worked for me.
until you reconnect to another blue tooth enabled device and then it comes back.
2nd that notion from Mr Locke.. Iphone X, Bluetooth issue, lock screen. all of it.

This was an issue for me on my iPhone X. It was Bluetooth related. As aforementioned, the “fix” is to unpair all Bluetooth devices, restart the phone, and then repair Bluetooth devices. Apple should fix this minor (yet incredibly annoying) bug with a future software update. Until then, I highly recommend unpairing and restarting. It’s nice to have my lock screen back. |

Go to settings> iTunes & App Store > turn off Video Auto Play and restart phone, let me know if that worked for you.
I figured it out. As long as your Bluetooth is on and the App is open, it will appear off screen. If you close App and Turn Bluetooth off and lock your screen, the widget will no longer appear.
I didn’t have to remove Pandora. Just turned off music notifications and restarted phone.
I deleted the music app and then the-booted. It’s gone.
Hard reset worked for me. Hold the lock button and down volume button at the same time and it will turn off and back on.
Settings>Notifications>Music>turn off Show On Lock Screen
