How do I remove the music player from the lock screen in iOS 11?

I need to see my notifications. I don't use the music player... I will NEVER use the music player. It's taking up valuable real estate.

Thanks!

I'm confused. The Music player on the lock screen, only appears if you are actively playing something when you turn on the screen. If you have not been playing anything, or pause it and unlock the iPhone and then turn off the iPhone, the playback section should disappear. It will not disappear if you just pause from the lock screen and turn if off.

Otherwise its not there, and you just need to swipe up to get the notifications.

However, you'll always need to swipe up to see notifications though, and they'll take over the space used by the playback controls any way even if they are there. Notifications are no longer shown directly in the lock screen, and need to be revealed by swiping up regardless.

How do I remove the music player from the lock screen in iOS 11?

This was an issue for me on my iPhone X. It was Bluetooth related. As aforementioned, the “fix” is to unpair all Bluetooth devices, restart the phone, and then repair Bluetooth devices. Apple should fix this minor (yet incredibly annoying) bug with a future software update. Until then, I highly recommend unpairing and restarting. It’s nice to have my lock screen back.
