printer problems HPLaserjet M553

After installing High Sierra update I'm experiencing problems in printing with mail, word, excel, adobe. I've a HP Laserjet Enterprise M553 with IMac late 2013. The following errors appears when printing:

ERROR: Undefinedresult

OFFENDING COMMAND: show

I've already installed firmware printer updates, printer software updates. I've tried with a USB connection and with a LAN connection but the problem is always the same. Any suggestion ?

thanx in advance

iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015), macOS High Sierra (10.13)

Hi Robert (rhfoster34)

There are a couple of workarounds.

1. Install Calibri font into FontBook; you may need to exactly follow the instructions given (see below).
2. Change the default fonts in Word and Excel away from Calibri.

Note that this doesn't solve the problem for PDFs created in 10.13.x.

Re 1, " I downloaded a bunch of MS fonts from Apple StackExchange <https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/128091/where-can-i-find-default-micros oft-fonts-calibri-ca...> and installed Calibri and Cambria, following the instructions there. Restarting the iMac was essential."

my message 110. You don't need to install Cambria.

Also having this issue at the office I'm working at, although we have a selection of MFP M880 and M630 devices.

Due to the support model here I'm limited in what steps I can take with regards to resetting and fiddling with users machines.

I'm also following a thread on HP support in regards to same issue here:

That is not a solution. If you are an Apple user with an HP printer sitting in your house then fine, BUT if you are an enterprise and have hundreds or even possibly thousands of printers the sysadmin is not going to play that game. The problem is squarely on Apple. They change their code they need to revert back. This is another prime example of why Apple computers are toys and not enterprise class machines.
