Bluetooth not working High Sierra

Hi there,

Updated my OS a while ago (2 weeks?) and my Bluetooth isn't working ever since. Turned it on and off a few times, didn't work. So I decided to reset the Bluetooth module, that didn't work either. Neither did removing all connected devices.

The problem is that my Bluetooth keep searching for devices, but can't find any.

Any ideas on how to fix this? People with similar problems?

I'm having 2 issues with bluetooth since updating to High Sierra.

1) Similar to you I have connection issues and in the bluetooth section of system preferences the option to delete the device is unavailable. Restarting the OS brings back the option to delete the device in system preferences and then a re-pair get's me back up and running. Having to do this at irregular intervals. No idea what triggers the connection issue.

2) The balance for music is off when using headphones with iTunes. I have bluetooth headphones that can also be connected with an analog aux-in. With the aux-in the headphones work perfectly. When I use the bluetooth function to stream the music the left earphone is far louder than the right. What the heck.

I'm having a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015).

After i updated to 10.13.2, my trackpad and keyboards loose the connection several times a day.

Yesterday i tried the "trick" to delete the bluetooth.list, still having the problem.

I have tried to reset bluetooth module, no change.

I have removed all devices and reconnected, no change.

I have been having similar issues on my 15" MBP 2011 since upgrading to macOS 10.13.2. It most obnoxiously manifests itself as no longer being able to wake my MBP (which sits in a dock, and drives a Thunderbolt Display) from either my Apple Wireless Keyboard or Apple Magic Trackpad. I have to pull my MBP out of its dock, at which point I discover that the Bluetooth is "not available," and I have to reboot to restore Bluetooth functionality.

The other way the Bluetooth issue manifests itself is that the keyboard and/or the trackpad lose their connection, and become unresponsive. I have tried resetting the Bluetooth module, and have even tried performing a factory reset on my keyboard and trackpad, to no effect.

Further to the above oddity. Several years ago my earlier Mac Pro was rather noisy. I was able to put it the other side of a thin plaster wall and added an old seat cushion as additional noise reduction.

I have just removed the cushion and the horizontal mode of moving the mouse is better, but not perfect, it is still better if I use it effectively on its side. It will actually work from the other side of the room if I move it on a vertical surface, but not at all if I am more than 5 ft from the tower and on a horizontal surface. Is it my Mouse that is at fault?

I don't know if this is relevant to others problems, but in the past - before Sierra - I could switch on my Magic Mouse and it would connect automatically, now I have to go to the Bluetooth symbol in the top bar and using a different wireless mouse I have I then have to select to connect to the Magic Mouse. Just a bit inconvenient.
