Same issue here- people report the audio to be very muffled and unclear. They’re unable to make out the words when I talk.
Interestingly when I put the call on speaker, the other person can hear me very clearly. Seems this might be an issue with the mouthpiece on these new phones?
If hanging up and placing another call solves the issue, it's most likely a carrier problem.
Call me quite confused. I thought you were not having issues? Do you work for Apple?
I'm not having any issues with my iPhone X and no, I don't work for Apple.
All I can suggest is keep working with Apple Support as that's how the issue is going to get resolved.
Would you happen to be left handed by any chance?

People are unable to hear me, I come in broken up or muffle. It very annoying, to the point where I would return the product if possible.
Turning off Phone Noise Cancellation under Accessibility in General Settings worked for me!!!

ON Iphone 7 too. Problem with microphone and know I must pay 365 Francs ????? Its a joke????
No money back for us either, there solution to us is engineering is aware of the issue and it will be solved in a future update.
I'm sure it will be fixed in the next thousand dollar phone that you will be required to purchase. However, this has actually been going on since the iPhone 7.
Where do you find this model number? Mine under settings and about says it is a A1865?
