Mine is A1864 (8 plus)
Have been meaning to post this for a while - the issue is not the phone. It’s the flip case. When you fold it back, it covers the rear mic and the phone thinks your voice is the background noise (hence trying to cancel it out).
I have tried calling without folding the cover and multiple people confirmed my voice was crisp.

Everyone I call can hear me so I'm not sure how it is happening to yours.
Do you mean all 4 phones I have had and the 1700 other people that have reported the issue on this thread alone? Yes, it is a mystery.
Not everyone in this thread was reporting it but even if they were what percentage would that be of the total number sold?
So if you had it on the iPhone 7 then this problem is not just with the X?
All I can say is good luck to you, sounds like you are already at Tier 2 with a case number. But if they can't fix it for you then you know what does work. Pick the right tool for your needs.

The issue occurs when you block or cover the other mics. Why you can’t deactivate other 2 mics while on a normal phone call is beyond me. I tried turning off the noise cancellation feature & it made a little difference, but not much.
The main use of a phone is to call people & it’s pathetic on that front atm.
Yes I am having the same problem I am on third iPhone x It’s fine on speaker but who wants to talk on speaker or Bluetooth all the time not for me sorry. Will be returning and going with another phone until they fix the problem. Bad batch is bunch of bull I had them order me the last two from different locations. I really need my noise cancellation on cause I work where it is kinda loud. Hope this help you guys make your mind up not to get this phone or wait. And the people acted like I was the first one they heard this from at my provider. Not cool. Three lemons I doubt that so three phones later same probably and about 7 hours in my providers store What a joke of a phone that cost what it does. If they don’t get me squared away Samsung all the way!
That’s interesting. I’ll give it a try. I spent over an hour chatting with Apple and after running a diagnostic on the phone they determined that the hardware seems to be fine. They had me do a hard reset and it seemed to help a bit. They also said it could be an issue with my carrier.
