Have been meaning to post this for a while - the issue is not the phone. It’s the flip case. When you fold it back, it covers the rear mic and the phone thinks your voice is the background noise (hence trying to cancel it out).
I have tried calling without folding the cover and multiple people confirmed my voice was crisp.

They wouldn't return my calls and refused to repair this issue for me. I have cut my losses and sold the phone.
I just bought my i8 on Sunday the 25th and have had two issues with people hearing me. I haven’t had time to buy a case so that is not the issue here.
No, I’m not. It’s just frustrating. Don’t know what else to do. People end up hanging up on me because they can’t hear me. Annoying!! 😡😡

People are unable to hear me, I come in broken up or muffle. It very annoying, to the point where I would return the product if possible.

I'm sure it will be fixed in the next thousand dollar phone that you will be required to purchase. However, this has actually been going on since the iPhone 7.
Where do you find this model number? Mine under settings and about says it is a A1865?
