iPhone X Lock Screen features disappear

I also have this issue, and I already had it in my old iPhone e 6s plus. At least, in the previous phone I could solve it by changing the zoom, without the need for restarting.

This is not something that should happen in a +1000$ phone...

Exact same thing happens to me a couple times a day it’s very annoying. I phone still unlocks with Face ID but all I can see is my wallpaper. If I try to swipe down on the left to see my notifications I also just get blank wallpaper. I have the latest version of the software. Raise to wake has been turned off since I got the phone so that is not the issue.

I’ve had my X for a week and a day from March 14, 2018. I didn’t have any issues during the first 4 days; since then, I have been getting the same blank wallpaper lock screen issue. Are there any workarounds for this or pointers? Today alone this will be the third time I’ve restarted my iPhone X. Thank you.

Hi, i updated the 11.3 when is came out, unfortunately 5 days later, my phone had the same issues with the lock screen. I have had my X changed 2 times at apple store since I got it last December and have fully reset the phone several times. Unfortunately nothing that I have tried to do and/or reps from apple solved anything. The iPhone X is a lemon that I wish I had never got.

I thought this was only happening to me. Same exact frustrating problem happens at least once a day!!

I also have this same problem. Have to restart 2-3 times a day. Current ios release is the worst ever i have seen. Hope Apple fixes it soon. This bug makes such an expensive iPhone X useless

Apple tried to tell me it was from corrupted files and wanted me to reformat my phone and start as new. This is a software bug.

I had same issue i have iphone X since 3 weeks and I replaced 2 time with same issue but still i had it on my lock screen notifications disappear we need apple to resolved it

I have this issue - it is really frustrating. Go to open phone, and all have is torch, camera and notifications. No ability to proceed to unlock phone - not even face recognition works. I have to hard crash the device and turn it on again to then get everything back. Is there a fix for this yet?

I'm going to try this now. I'll let you all know in another day or so whether this resolves the problem. I'll need at least a day, because the problem was only happening after several hours (disappearing controls on the lock screen).

I’m having the exact same problem as well. It’s nice to see this is not an isolated issue. It is extremely annoying and an inconvenience as well. Sometimes, it takes several attempts at swiping to unlock the screen. I hope Apple releases a fix for this soon.

It’s obvious what’s happening here. ios has gone sentient, and it’s trying to slowly torture us all into insanity. Apple is probably trying to kill the sentient computer system, but it’s gone to the internet and it can’t be stopped now. All hail sentient ios.

I had no idea that Hal is still stirring up trouble. I figured he is still floating around in space, but if he’s hatching some evil plan with SIRI we should get any help we can. If MurderBot (and I will have to look into this) can help SIRI follow Isimov’s three rules of robotics or simply end her forever, I think we should. SIRI is simply the most frustrating woman in my life.

Wait -- so Apple told you this was a Hardware issue?

That would be really upsetting if it is the case! I really don't want to have to replace the phone and go through the setup process all over again with logins and apps. What a drag. But it didn't solve your problem! So...is this just a software problem - or is there BOTH a software and hardware problem?

Can anyone else chime in on this -- has anyone else gone to the Apple Store with an iPhone X exhibiting this problem -- and if so, what was the AS's response?

Thanks for the response. I agree it does sound like a software problem. I highly doubt it is the screen! If it were then the display would be going blank on occasions in other apps and on the 'desktop' (or whatever it's called). I'm also not willing to setup my phone from new. I went through a lot of trouble to move my text messages/history from my old phone to my new phone.

Well, I did bite the bullet and purchase AppleCare for the phone -- the prospect of a broken screen or back and the outrageous cost to fix either made the purchase necessary insurance. And I guess, if there is any kind of manufacturing defect with this phone that doesn't show up until after the standard warranty is finished, I'm covered for that as well.

But I really don't want the solution to be replacing the phone -- unless that REALLY is the problem (it does seem doubtful).
