iPhone X Lock Screen features disappear

Ever so often when I tap on the screen to wake, all of the lock screen features will disappear. Its random. I will tap on the screen, it wakes, but there is no Face ID lock in the top center, no home bar at the bottom, no quick access controls, no time, no widgets. Just a blank overlay with my Lock Screen wallpaper showing. However, the strange thing is, with no features showing I can still raise the phone to my face and unlock it. This is clearly a software glitch. Is anyone else have this problem?

So, are they trying to say that the only way to fix this is to get a new device? They really think that it’s a device issue that’s causing almost every single iPhone X user to experience this? I don’t believe that tech one single bit. If it is in fact a device issue, then this phone should’ve never been released for purchase to the public. Just sayin...

Haha, I love the people who need to be technical with everything. Obviously, since the word almost was used, it wasn’t meant to be every single user. But thanks for the reply anyways, even though there was no point to your post.

Like I asked, does Apple really think that it’s a device issue, with “so many people” having this issue?

Better cupcake?

I really hope this is not the case! I don't want to have my phone replaced...especially if this doesn't really fix the problem.

Also - the problem being hardware simply doesn't make sense. The phone doesn't lose the capacity to display images. Just that some images disappear from the lockscreen - after a while.

I really do wish we would receive some actual guidance from Apple about this directly, rather than every one of us having to explore this problem! This is really irritating for a $1200+ device.

You’re on page 8 of this discussion and you haven’t read anything up to this point? How many posts have you seen about people going to Apple and being told the need a new device? You should know better than that. Just bc you or the circle of friends you have don’t see this issue, doesn’t mean it’s not happening to majority of iOS 11 users. And it’s not a device issue, so other iPhones experience this as well. Since last September is been brought to Apples attention and still, here we are in the next year and they still are telling people they are not aware of this issue? Please. They have been doing this for way too long for people to be that gullible. And if you are, I truly feel for you. They need to do a better job with support. Their products are good, but they can’t even help solve any issue. All they ever say is “update and restore” or “turn in your defective device for a new one”. The sad part is people keep falling for their crap.

Define a "lot"; out of the millions of iPhone Xs sold, very few are having this issue, but I certainly understand how annoying it is if you are.

When it comes to battery usage, that is a function of your cell signal; a long call in a high signal area will use far less battery than one in a low signal area.

If you think you may have a battery issue, simply make an appointment with your local Apple Store or servicer for further diagnosis.

Did you even read what he was referring to with the term “a lot”? No. He never said anything about it referring to a lot of people having this issue. He said he has contacted Apple “a lot”. Just bc you haven’t had the issue or your inner circle hasn’t, doesn’t put you in the majority. Pretty sure if you took time to research this, you’d notice “a lot” of people having this issue. And not just X users.

Either way you want to play it, they have no idea what’s going on and are incompetent at providing any helpful feedback. They are being told say after day about this issue, yet respond with that answer to d.24?

Your response to a battery issue is no different than their response to almost everything that can go wrong with an iPhone: “just contact Apple to get it taken care of”....yes, bc this has obviously proven to be very effective...I highly doubt these battery issues are being caused by your reception. Yes, it will use more battery, but enough to cause concern? Never. It’s a firmware issue.

People should stop protecting Apple and understand that this is an iOS issue. Not a device issue. Going into Apple will not fix anything. They will more than likely try to tell you that you need a new phone. Look how many people have don’t it so far, yet still have this issue. Smh...they will keep doing this until people stop being gullible.

turning off bluetooth has done nothing for me. Still happens. I know can't use faceID anymore when it happens, At first I was still unable to lock it that way now it fails no matter what when bugged. Have no choice but to reset as I can't log into the phone.

Really getting annoying now. Happens with no notifications, no Bluetooth. Just random and all the time now
