Hopefully this will work for everyone. I bought this HDMI 2.1 cable off Amazon ( Amazon.com: ECHOGEAR 4 ft Braided HDMI 2.1 Cable - 4k Compatible With Gold Plated Connections For the Best Picture - Sup… )
ECHOGEAR 4 ft Braided HDMI 2.1 Cable - 4k Compatible With Gold Plated Connections For the Best Picture - Supports HD, 4k, and Ethernet Signals With 120fps Refresh & 48gbps Bandwidth.
It has worked with no issues and I'm no longer experience any signal loss. Doing my research I found that HDMI 2.0b can't handle 4k TV's with 120hz native refresh along with Dolby Vision; too much bandwidth. Any HDMI 2.1 cable should work but if you are buying off Amazon, PLEASE read the reviews and descriptions first. There are some companies claiming their cable is HDMI 2.1 compatible and it isn't. The Echogear has worked for me with no problems for over a week. I'm running an LG 65" 8500 series TV with Dolby Vision.

I opened a ticket with Apple today, and gave them this and the AVS thread to reference. Unfortunately, my ATV wouldn’t reset and update while on the phone, so I’ve sent it to Apple to diagnose.
p.s., My HDMI cables are 4K (SIIG?) between the AppleTV, Onkyo, and Samsung. I thought they were pretty high end cables. AppleTV to Onkyo is a 2M, Onkyo to Samsung is longer (5M ?).
Thanks. Good info to be aware of. Whick beta are you on?
I gave Sony 900f and apple 4k and I have the same problem. Optical works fine. problems with HDMI.
Glad my suggestion is helping others here. What a silly oversight on their part as it appears as though the problem is pretty widespread.
Thanks - please keep us updated.
Curious - the two signal drops -- were they at the same spot in the material - that is - could you replicate it?
My TV went black and then the signal came back, because of the signal loss to the hdmi not once, but twice.
What OS have you been using in all these four months ?
Hi, are you still on that beta ? Does it still work with any issues so far ? Thanks
Yes I am running the current beta (16L5226a) with no problems.
What kind of TV do you have? I am using a standard HDMI cable that the cable companies give you.
I’m using the cable company’s HDMI Cables as well.
One of my Apple tvs on a smaller bedroom TV runs through a switch box to switch inputs
Typical Apple...lol. I know more about there products then they do.
Just turned on a soccer game on the Sling App and it happened to me. I'm done. I am selling it and going to get something else. I am currently running 12.2 the official release.
