Custom lyrics not showing iOS 11.2

After updating my iphone to 11.2 recently, I noticed I cannot look at my custom lyrics I added via iTunes on my phone anymore. There is no show lyrics button. Why is this? Is this a bug or is this how the app is for the foreseeable future? I am seriously, deeply sad and angry that this feature has been taken away. It was literally the only thing keeping me in iOS.

This is getting painful.

It worked only with difficulty in iOS11.1.2.

For me it was necessary to remove all of my music and then sync it again.

Now, even this trick does not work...

How could we get apple to get this to work???

It took 2 hours with Apple support for them to figure out that's the way it works in 11.2.5.

You can only see the custom lyrics by displaying the song in a songs-in-album view, then pressing and holding the song title. A menu screen pops up with a Lyrics item at the bottom.

There are several ways to the songs-in-album view (as I call it).

- ppithermo's method, above.

- or, in the now-playing song view, tap the red, scrolling artist/title line below the song title.

No, not saying that.......sadly I use iOS on iphone at the moment, but most of my music is purchased outside of Apple and imported into iTunes so that I have free choice about my music and my kids can use the music files for Android phones too. Haven't checked how lyrics work for Android yet. Was hoping for a simple intuitive solution..

You are right, ppithermo. Thanks! But you don't need to do all of those steps.

1. Hold your finger on a song in a list, and you get the screen with a choice to see Lyrics (if lyrics are present).

2. Touch the Lyrics choice, and they come up.

That's it!

Note: The song doesn't have to be playing. It shows only what you have selected.

(It's too bad that it doesn't update when the next song starts.)

You have to select Lyrics in the same way for each song.

(What happened to lyrics on the Now Playing screen?)

As far as I can remember, some time around iOS 8 the lyrics started causing complications with their display across certain devices. It's been so long since I last saw my custom lyrics on my iPhone, though they show perfectly on iTunes(both PC and Mac). Different people have used various work-arounds to make them show, but they were never consistent.

I've tried and clicked every cranny and nook on my Music app to hopefully find a work-around for the lyrics to no avail.

I don't see why this is such a resilient or recurring issue for one of the top 4 IT companies in the world.

Its a few months later and now this function works. Just barely though mate.

I found it works well with songs paired with very small lyrics. Barely a paragraph or so if you were to stretch it out.

Any song that is longer, it will, and I repeat, not show up using your method sadly.

It is my hope that Apple would fix this. This problem is only getting more attention now, and with luck it will be fixed.

Sadly though, the newest update iOS 11.2.6 has not improved on this issue.

I repeatedly suggested a possible hopefully relible solution

1) have lyrics on/off button

2) if lyrics button says on, the lyrics are displayed for each song and change with eahc new song.

if lyrics button says off, the we do not see them

3) all other interfacesnad commands are effective like shuffle et...

may someone can forward this to Apple...

Yes !!! Thank's. It works for IOS 11.2.6. A little bit complicate, but better than nothing.

It's more than one year now that this bug persist. What's happened !!!

Are the mac programers begin to be totally incompetent ? I know about programming systems, and I am sure that this bug is not so complicated to solve, so please, what the **** are you doing ????

When I said "It's work with IOS 11.2.6" I talk about the trek from Retxed24 listed above.

I to, I am angry against Mac. And I know a lot of people they fill the same against their agressive politic marketing of mac. They think we are stupid. They have voluntary put some slow-down inside the system to push people to buy their new model. The same politic with the planed obsolescence of the accumulators. If this will continue, I will I turn to Chinese products. Shame, because IOS could be a very good system. It is almost a very good system.

But I can't accept anymore this agressive politic of Mac.
