Custom lyrics not showing iOS 11.2

After the 11.2.2 update on my iPhone SE, I see absolutely no change in behavior compared to what I posted earlier.

What is needed in my opinion:
Something simple fullproof.

A lyricson/lyricsoff button.

If lyrics are present for the song playing, they are displayed.

If there are no lyrics attached to that song, they are not displayed!!

How about that Apple?

Hay Thanks I Saw The Link And Did What You Said But It's working On Some Songs And Dose Not Work On Others With No Reason i can see. I Have 3877 Songs And Added Lyrics To Each song On Itunes One By One (It took A Very Long Time...) I Did It Not Because I Was Board, I Did It Because I Wanted To See Lyrics While Hearing The Song.

Please Apple Fix This.

Another BUG Is That In the Few Songs That I Can See Lyrics, When The Songs Changes, The Lyrics Don't, So I Listen To Song While I See The Previus Songs Lyrics.

Does Anyone Knows How Fix That?

Perfect. Yes, way too many hoops to jump through, but the lyrics are displayed nonetheless. Thanks for this. I've been going crazy trying to figure out how to show the lyrics after the ridiculous update IOS 11. It used to be so easy to simply touch the album artwork on my older iPod and the lyrics came up.

After updating my iphone to 11.2 recently, I noticed I cannot look at my custom lyrics I added via iTunes on my phone anymore. There is no show lyrics button. Why is this? Is this a bug or is this how the app is for the foreseeable future? I am seriously, deeply sad and angry that this feature has been taken away. It was literally the only thing keeping me in iOS.

also the hardware where i updated the iOs is

iPad mini 3

iPhone SE

iPhone 5S

The iPhone 4S is on 9.3.5 cannot be updated but that works like charm….

Running music, if i touch the artwork, the upper part of the screen displays the lyrics…

works perfectly!!!

Amazed u worked this out, indeed your method does work. Had it continued displaying lyrics for each song in playlist, I could almost deal with it.

Alas going though this for each song is ludicrous

I'll never understand why they keep messing with things that actually work well

Will, this will be if Apple was the only phone manufacturer but they are not, all my other platforms that I use display the lyrics, I will decide in the summer if the problem persist if I want to migrate to a better IOS, already used Samsung before.....

Alexandra, thanks. clearly what is needed urgently now is a lyrics on/off switch so that lyrics are automatically displayed if they have been entered. hence, new lyrics should appear automatically with each new song.

Possibly some adjustment of the window format. (split screen so that one still has access to controls to shuffle, next song etc.

Personally I still got my ipod touch 32 gb that I use solely in the car because shows the art cover on the car screen, also shows ALL the lyrics just pressing the art cover (the old fashion way)...ah the good old days of Apple...

So i wrote to Apple on 10 Jan 18 with a nicely worded polite question on what's happening with the custom lyrics, got a automated reply with the message that a personal response will be provided within 48 hours. Today is 14 Jan 18... do the math Apple

It seems like, with every update of the music app, Apple makes some insignificant aesthetic change while crippling basic functionality. What happened to custom lyrics and star ratings? Why is it that, no matter if I choose to view artists, albums, or songs, the music is ALWAYS alphabetized by artist, thereby rendering the "album" and "song" view modes completely pointless?

Get it together, Apple. You're shooting yourself and your customers in the foot by screwing up basic functionality like this. The music app from ten years ago worked better than the current one.

I use an ipad and it works the same way BUT the lyrics don't change with the next song like they used to in the playlist view. It is like people at Apple stopped listening to music & podcasts after Jobs died.

Hay this is my problem too after i had to remove all my lyrics sinc, add al my lyrics ans sinc again. And even avter i did it, its not fun to use lyrics if i have to tap 4-5 times to see the lyrics and do it all over when the sing changes. To my deep sorrow apple is gone with Steave Gubs Rip.

hi tnx. it does not matter where we are. the important thing is that we both (among many others) share the hope that apple will come to sences and fix the lyrics display as it was before. if it wont get fixed i think apple and i will go on seperate ways after many years 🙂

Come on Apple, this is getting ridiculous. What's the point of killing this feature which worked nicely? Why do you keep breaking stuff? The entire iOS AppStore review sytem is a mess. And now lyrics no longer show in music.app on iOS?

This is getting to a point which is no longer acceptable.
