Custom lyrics not showing iOS 11.2

Almost useless method. Lyrics are for spontaneous enjoyment while the song is playing. Nobody will drill down that way to get to lyrics. The way it used to work until iOS 10 was that you would just touch the large album art and the lyrics would display with the art tastefully faded out behind. It was refined and beautiful and flawless. It was what Apple used to be.

I cringe every time IPhone does an update, 100% of the time Music gets messed up, even though the explanation for the update NEVER EVER mentions changes to Music. Each update takes away or hides useful, common sense features, and the workarounds can be quite cumbersome, after much research (thank goodness for forums like this).

answers to technical questions don’t always come directly from Apple manuals or memos. What I’m saying is AppleCare advisors sometimes make it up as they go, even using good ol Google search as the source of their advice.

Are you surprised phone support agents could do this?

Seems you re an Apple hater, the way you write, mr. I-don’t-even-own-a-cellphone. The rest of us came here earnestly looking for a solution or workaround.

To me it’s a real issue, but I wouldn’t switch to Android because of a lyrics bug, come on!

Sadly this is why I will NEVER use IOS exclusively. Apple change good and practical stuff, whether by accident or (I suspect) intention. The suggested actions from many of force touching in list view does not work for me with 11.2.1. Keep looking for solutions....

No, not saying that.......sadly I use iOS on iphone at the moment, but most of my music is purchased outside of Apple and imported into iTunes so that I have free choice about my music and my kids can use the music files for Android phones too. Haven't checked how lyrics work for Android yet. Was hoping for a simple intuitive solution..

This is getting painful.

It worked only with difficulty in iOS11.1.2.

For me it was necessary to remove all of my music and then sync it again.

Now, even this trick does not work...

How could we get apple to get this to work???

Instead of create new things they are only changing what was done... I want my lyrics back.

I’ve sendo too much money on Apple products for deserve respect on my decision not to buy Apple Music... I don’t have interest in it.

I have my songs and I want to see it’s lyrics as always. Please.

I believe i have a reliable way of getting the lyrics to be visible on the iphone.

I enclose a link to a small movie illustrating the methode.

I go for example to playlist pick a list, then a song.

Once the song is playing, I touch the song at the bottom of the scren.

I get the artwork.

If I touch the 3 red dots, the window that pops up does not containe the line lyrics. .

I click now on the small art work.

This activates a new list.

The song is displayed in pink.

I keep my finger on that song.

A new window pop up where the item lyrics appears at the bottom.

Of course complicated but reliable...it seems

I noticed too, and now even itunes seems stop supporting it, I don't know why Apple or their developers hate lyrics so much, it is after all an add ons that some people enjoy....

Apple should fix this nonsense. Scrolling up on a song does not display the lyrics like before!

for ipad spell check , try switching to a different language for the ipad and then back to English!!

it might work for you (congrats!) but not for others. so quit sayin that it works. gives the impression that everyone else who can't get it to work means they'r dumb and cant follow instructions duh

It is not an ideal solution, but it has helped a few.

So to be clear. I got the lyrics to show only on Ipods and Ipads, I do not have an Iphone so that sounds like a different issue.
