High Sierra 10.13.2 cannot find my audio device

I'm using an external audio interface, "M-Audio Fast Track Pro", which was automatically recognized by the OS until now. After updating High Sierra to 10.13.2, which one of its improvements is about a best "compatibility with certain third-party USB audio devices", my iMac 27" Mid 2011 don't recognize the external audio interface at all!!!!

What the heck is going on? Is it a simple "bug", and I have to wait for a new update in order to use again my audio interface? Or is it simply considered an old device and no longer supported?

Thanks for any answer!

If you don't have a previous High Sierra installer, try this update I've found in Apple support, it's an older one they posted one month ago, it should probably "downdate" your macOS to 10.13 or 10.13.1, but I'm not perfectly sure!

To all those who bought the Focusrite Scarlett to replace the Fast track (which is exactly what I did) I thought it didn't work either. But as was already stated, it's probably defaulting to the microphone input. For instance in my GarageBand and in my Logic Pro, I just had to switch from input one to input two (I bought a Focusrite Scarlett Solo)

Hi minicus64! Thanks for your solution! I'm keen to try it but I'm a bit stuck and puzzled.

I've installed both mbox-driver and fastrack pro-driver.

For step 3 - do you mean:

1) Delete from that folder you created in that zip file OR

2) Navigate to the folder (with similar file paths to what you have written) that was created by the installers and delete those?

I assumed it's option 2) but can't seem to find them 😟

(Update 5 minutes later)

Sorry found it... Feeling dumb... 😝 The file path minicus64 is pointing to is originating from Macintosh HD. In my defence I'm a windows user 😀 😀 (just using Mac for MainStage & logic x) Just followed your instructions but don't have the device on me right now. Will update this thread to let the rest know if it does work. *rubs hands in anticipation*

Hi, i had the same problem. Updated to mac os 10.13.3 and the m-audio fast track pro doesn't work. I tried to contact the avid but they are mercenaries, you have to pay to get information. I'll never buy or get any products of this company anymore. I suggest you to contact apple at chat support and communicate this problem, the person with i spoke on chat said that i was the only one that mentioned this problem. So, if we make a complain at apple chat support i believe they make some changes at the next update. I don't trust in avid or m-audio anymore.

Hola YA ENCONTRE LA SOLUCION Y ME SIENTO BASTANTE FELIZ DE PODER COMPARTIRLA CON TODOS USTEDES.

M-audio M-track 2x2m 2 Channel Usb Audio Interface

Asi es, SOLO TIENEN QUE CONECTA UNA NUEVA INTERFAZ QUE SEA DE MODELO RECIENTE Y ABRIR LOS PROGRAMAS QUE USEN PARA CREAR MUSICA, DESPUES DE ESO VUELVEN A CONECTAR SU FAST TRACK PRO Y TODO VOLVERA A SER COMO ANTES!!!!!

mucha suerte a todos!!!! estoy muy feliz!!!! =)

Add me to the list of people who find that the 10.13.4 update "fixed" the USB driver issue for my Fast Track Pro.

I use the Fast Track Pro interface when I DJ because it allows discreet audio pass-through to two separate output channels (R+L/1&2+3+4) from the digital mixing console on my laptop. In other words, I can send audio from each side of the mixer to different channels in my PA system. I don't use any of the other inputs (other than the USB interface with my MacBook Pro), so I can't speak to their function.

I also got the message in the sounds control panel that the Fast Track Pro has "no output options," but it works flawlessly again.
