iPhone X Yahoo! email does not update

This just started happening. I get a good amount of emails throughout the day in my Yahoo mail box and now it is saying no new messages. When I go to a desktop, there clearly are new messages. I have tried different WIFI accounts, cell data, restarted the device, hard closed the mail app and uninstalled and reinstalled the email account. When I reinstalled it, it updated to show current emails, but will not update again.

This worked for me. Thank you. I had to go to yahoo mail in my web browser, pull up my security settings, and enable 'Allow apps that use less secure sign in.' After this I was able to re-add my yahoo account to my Apple mail app.

I was told exactly the same thing, I guess they have all been told to say the same thing. He did tell me to change my push instruction from Automatically to every 15 mins which seems to be helping. The messages do come in but do take much longer. I can see them in my yahoo app and then maybe an hour later they come in the mail app, even when I pull the screen down to let them in. I told him I may as well swap this X for the 8 and he said it will be the same issue! Very disappointed with this phone.

I have this same problem from day one and have been sent from pillar to post by Apple. After resetting wi-fi on the phone, doing two factory resets, two trips to the so called ‘genius’ bar, I still have the problem


After being told if the factory reset without using my iTunes backup and manually setting up the Yahoo accounts meant it must be a hardware problem, I went back and they refused to change the phone. On the phone with Apple they finally agreed to change the phone for a used/second hand/factory refurbished phone (they refused to say which, just that it was not new) which arrived yesterday. Another half day lost setting it up and the email worked great. For a few hours. This morning, no new emails. The X said it updated at 07:52, I turn on my 5 (not s, just 5) and there are new emails, same on the iPad mini


So I’ve paid $1,100 for a second hand phone and the problem is STILL there. What a rip-off. DON’T exchange your phone as Apple are ripping people off with non-new replacements. Apple used to be about customer service but now they just seem to be all about profit. I still have my iPhone 3, 5, I have AppleTV, iPad, etc. but I will never buy an Apple product ever again. If Apple had not deluberately crippled my iPhone 5 I would not have changed it. Now I am stuck with a used iPhone X that still does not work properly and am out thousands in lost time, just under five working days

Had long chat with the apple advisor on apple support app. Deleted all the account, even deleted the mail app. Started receiving all the mails. Woke up to find that the mail app is not showing any mails after 6 am. Have noticed this earlier also. All the solutions usually work till next day early morning and then back to square one.My iPhone 7, on all the exact same settings , is showing all the mails.

What makes you think the next update will fix anything? Just speculating?
