iMessage - messages arriving in wrong order

Hi, just realized that during conversations on iMessage the ordering is not correct. When I ask question and sb reply to it quickly, the answer is being displayed before my question in conversation. Anybody have the same issue and know any resolution ?

Hi Streetspy,

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I see that your iMessage contacts appear out of order. Let's look into this together.

First, make sure your iPhone has been updated to the latest iOS version -- Update the iOS on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If the issue persists after updating, the following information may help isolate the issue further:

1. Does this happen with multiple iMessage conversations?

2. Do you have Date & Time set to Automatic under Settings > General > Date & Time?

3. Do you see a red exclamation mark or "Not Delivered" alert under any of the messages you send?

Cheers.

I‘m having the same problem. IOS 11.2.2. However this started to happen just recently after I got me a new IPhone. Before, when I was only using IPad I never noticed this problem. This could be just a coincidence though.

I mostly use my IPad for messaging. It‘s an IPad Air 2. So far, the messages are only messed up on the device I‘m typing them, they are in the right order on my IPhone. Really weird. My conversation partner on an IPad Air 1 is having the same issue, but also just recently.

Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Man I dunno what the **** is going on with Apple lately but it seems like iOS-11 has had more issues than all the other iOS-1 to 10 have combined! How did all these glitches and bugs slip thru the cracks with all the Developer testing going on with the betas before the GM release?? And y’all say JailBreaking is a problem?? This is just getting ridiculous now... Whoever programmed and wrote code for iOS-11 should really be fired, IMO...

Same on all counts. Just updated to iOS 11.2.5 today that is when it started. Among other things in messaging like group messaging omitting people visually but they are getting the texts. And texts being received from the incorrect contact. I set a text to my sister and she said it was labeled as coming from her house cleaner person. 😕

not only did the new release not fix the issue - it created a new issue. clicking on a link that someone sends you in an imessage conversation no longer opens website. it just opens a new tab in chrome with an empty address bar. this is entirely new issue as of a few days ago. the worst - assuming others having same issue? only workaround is to right click copy and paste the thumbnail into new tab.

Just back to report that although the most recent upgrade seems to have solved this problem on my iPhone, the most recent OS upgrade (10.13.3), which was explicitly intended to fix the threading problem in Messages, has made no difference at all to the problem on my Macbook. In fact if anything, it's worse now, in that my own messages not only aren't correctly threaded into the conversation (my messages all show up below all the others), but they are also now all in reverse time order.

I’ve had this problem since before christmas. Today I also realised it affects snapchat and messanger on Facebook. When I send something in a chat on those two when friends are in the chat it says «read 15 secs ago» even though I just sent it. Also when people reply to me it says sent 15 secs ago even though we chat in real time and they maybe just says yes to a thing I asked 4 secs ago
