itunes error 0x80004005

I have tried to burn cd's from playlists. Since installing the latest version of itunes, when i do this it writes the first couple of songs and the stops with the 0x8004005 error message. Could you please let me know how to stop this from happening. I am using a Toshiba Satellite with windows 10.

A number of users have reported problems burning discs with iTunes 12.7.2.x for Windows. It is useful to know that Apple purchases should burn OK, although I've seen at least one report suggesting it was the other way around. 😕

A workaround is to uninstall iTunes then download and install one of the following as appropriate:

You could also try burning at 1x or 2x which has worked for some.

So tt2 - staying on the version 2 versions back is the best solution.

This advice applies to Windows 7 64 bit users specifically but may also apply to Windows 8.x and Windows 10 users. Okay, I followed the advice and installed the older version of Itunes that was mentioned in this article. 2 Notes that should be helpful for everyone that does this method. 1. Make sure you uncheck the box for automatic updates of Apple Itunes and products or your Itunes will automatically be updated to the latest version. 2. The Apple Security Certificate for this software expires February 24, 2018 so I hope that there will be a fix by then at the very latest. My blank music cd did successfully burn on the first try and I had to reauthorize my computer in order to allow the songs to be burned to the cd. Fortunately, I only lost 2 blank music cds before I went to Google Search to research this error.

Been in discussion with Apple for the past week. They called today (29th Dec) saying that the engineering department is aware of this issue and that it will be fixed in the next update. I have also noticed that if your playlist consists solely of all songs purchased through Apple then it will burn. If you have any songs purchased elsewhere (downloads, original cds) then the cd will stop burning once it hits that song and we then get that error number. Hopefully we get a new update soon.

There was a general issue burning CDs with iTunes 12.7.2.x for Windows.

iTunes 12.7.3.46 for Windows has been released which appears to burn CDs normally.

It can be downloaded from https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/. Some regional sites may show the old version.

If you still have problems try the second box of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
