IMessage/Text Messages Out Of Order

Ever Since I updated to iOS 11.2.1 my messages do not show in correct order Ive tried restart manually setting time and 24hr time. Nothing seems to fix this issue driving me nuts constantly missing text because overlooking. They are showing as if they were received before other messages. Common Apple your killing me how can I keep speaking so highly of you when lately you've been letting me down.

No unfortunately nothing I have tried has worked. Driving me insane hopefully they fix this vwith next update. I believe its related to the seconds in the tome settings in the code. It seems that if it is a message recieved within same minute they get placed together but seconds arent written in.

I think I figured it out. Go to iCloud.com on your Mac and log in. Then go to settings. Click on the right side of the screen that says time region. Although it probably says your correct time region anyways, when you click on the actual thing the map will be hovering over the California instead. Click your correct time region on the map, save then close. Restart your iPhone + Mac if you have one. I fixed mine that way at least.

I also removed my old phone from those settings as well. So if you still have your old iPhone active under it you may want to take it off.

Good luck!

Am having the same issue. I noticed it last week on a couple of iMessage threads and rebooted my phone and it straightened it out, but then last night I noticed it happening again. I tried rebooting my phone twice, the date and time suggestion, turning iMessages on and off, but still no joy. I am currently running 11.2 on an iPhone 6. The strange thing is my iPad (also running 11.2) and my iMac (running Mavericks) are both fine and the messages are in the correct order. Surely the messages are kept on the cloud, so shouldn't all devices sync?

Obviously I've missed the update for 11.2.2 and I see it's now at 11.2.5. Will this update solve the issue?

Thanks

Well, hopefully, this afternoon they'll know more. I just chatted with customer service and I'm supposed to get a call back today to talk with a higher level phone tech about what's happening. They are aware of the problem, is what the service rep. said but they want to talk about what is happening.

As far as I can tell, if the iMessage conversation happens in intervals of less than, say, 1 minute then the messages are out of order. If the reply is over a minute later then it's fine. Also, my iPod doesn't have the same problem, just my phone.

Funny thing is my wife converses on her iPad in the mornings and she didn't have the problem until I corrected the problem on my phone, the first time, then she had the problem and performed the "turning the automatic time zone off and rebooting" fix and hasn't had the problem again since.

This is just so strange!

Mine are out of order again.

Has anyone noticed this. I was taking screen shots, to send to Apple when I talk to them this afternoon, and I got one where they are out of order. But then, when I was showing a guy at work, they popped into order. I got a shot with them out of order and one with them in order so, hopefully, this will help when they look into this.

I timed responses and it appears that, if the person waits to respond 20 to 30 seconds, or longer, the message will be in order. If they respond before 20 seconds elapses the message will appear out of order.

Apple update 11.2.5 has not fixed the issue of my texts appearing out of order. In fact today I saw one text very breifly then it disappeared. Who knows where it went. I confirmed with the sender and she said it was sent. We were having long conversation so maybe it’s somewhere in this long list of texts. Normally, it’s just moved one or two texts above for me. This issue is a big pain in the butt. Apple please fix it. This latest update did not fix the issue.

This is really getting to be a pain, especially since it was called out in the 11.2.5 update notes that it was being fixed. Any type of iMessage/phone reset is just a temporary solution and the problem just keeps coming back. Given the many messages on this board about this topic, this one alone has over 60k views, I really hope Apple are scrambling on this and another update will be out soon.

Yes, fingers crossed

I guess all we can do is hang in there.

...wait, what order are those last two statements in 🙂

I have and iPhone X - I also have tried the following - resetting phone - resetting iMessages by turning off and deleting network setting as requested by apple support - and this has done nothing - apple really need to get there act together, its getting super annoying when you get a new message and its down the bttm of the list. COME ON APPLE
