IMessage/Text Messages Out Of Order

Ever Since I updated to iOS 11.2.1 my messages do not show in correct order Ive tried restart manually setting time and 24hr time. Nothing seems to fix this issue driving me nuts constantly missing text because overlooking. They are showing as if they were received before other messages. Common Apple your killing me how can I keep speaking so highly of you when lately you've been letting me down.

iPhone 6s, iOS 11.2.1

No unfortunately nothing I have tried has worked. Driving me insane hopefully they fix this vwith next update. I believe its related to the seconds in the tome settings in the code. It seems that if it is a message recieved within same minute they get placed together but seconds arent written in.

I've found that this works - for a time - but eventually, the order gets bolloxed again:

1: Close the Messages window/app (double-click home and swipe it up/away).

2: General > Date & Time > turn off "Set Automatically"

3: Enable Airplane Mode disconnecting the phone from cell data and wifi.

4: Clear system caches (for good measure) by holding power for 5 seconds until the 'swipe' shows, then hold the home button for another 5 seconds - or until the swipe goes away.

5: General > Date & Time > turn on "Set Automatically"

6: Disable Airplane Mode.

The messages in the messages app should now be displayed in order... worked for me. iPhone SE, 11.2.6.

Please ! I hope this is resolved soon ... I started thinking I needed to take my phone in and get it replaced or something ...it is messed up with all my texts - the times they send are like 2 minutes later than the actual time and then people respond to me and my text stays at the bottom. Very annoying. Fingers crossed this will all be over soon :)

Yea definitely annoying. Talked to support over the phone and they said they see apple is aware of situation and appears to be working on resolution. Also stopped by apple store to see if anyone had a fix or temporary solution. One employee said he had never seen such a thing after I showed him he then grabbed one of there advanced techs who knew exactly what the issue was but unfortunately there is no fix and a update is currently in process.

I have been experiencing the same problem since I updated my phone a few months back. I have an iPhone 7 my friends all have different iPhones - and I’m the only one experiencing this problem. I called Apple support twice and they told me to wait for the next update. Next update came along and it did nothing. If anything it’s gotten worse! My timestamps on my iMessages are up to 2 mins ahead of time. I am so sick of it. In addition to this some of my message notifications say [received] ‘in 1 min’ or ‘in 2 mins’ instead of [received] ‘now’ or ‘2 mins ago’. I’m confused as to why it’s taken up to 4 months to fix this?

So what is the real fix???

Say I send an imessage, sometimes when some replies fast, their message comes in ABOVE my message! You guys see that too? It's usually when you are texting someone with fast replies, but it drives me nuts!

Has anyone been able to fix this with the suggestions above???

Just curious, what model phones are you using? Anyone using an 8 or x?

I’m on a 6s and suspect that Apple has decided its tIme for me to buy a new phone. I’ve got all kinds of problems. Skipping Bluetooth even when the phone sitting next to speaker, apps freezing, podcast app almost never works without restarting. No sound when texts come in sometimes. There is more too. I don’t trust them. Sad but true. I’ve lost my confidence in the company and am thinking or getting a droid and eventually a surface book. I don’t think they even remotely want to serve me, only to milk me. I could be wrong, and this could all just be the difficulties of such a complex machine, but the point is I’ve lost my trust in them. That’s really the point. I know they’ve been slowing down old devices for years, that’s been obvious to everyone, and it finally came out, but they still hardly admitted it and then said it was for our own good. I’m sure some of you will yell at me for posting this, but I can’t help how I feel.

Any new phones out there with this problem?

If you read all the answers above, most (80+%) have upgraded to 11.3. It doesn’t help. I have a iPhone 7 have tried every solution suggested, believe me! One might work for a day or two, then reverts back to cr#p. Same with the others.

This has been going on for MONTHS!

Apple, please?! Come up with a solution! Thank you.

Hello All

I *think* I might be on to something.

I went into [Settings->Messages] and turned off iMessage. I left it off for about an hour (not sure if that made a difference). Messages would only appear as green bubbles now (away from apple's imessage network). No messages seemed to arrive at their destinations at this point -no comms! Yikes!.

I then re-actived iMessages [Settings->Messages] and rebooted the phone.

So far all *new* messages are in the correct sequence. I sent pictures and texts to various people. So far so good.

I'll report back if it fails in the next few days. Hopefully that's fixed it.
