replace battery appointment

How do I make an appointment for replacing my iPhone 6 Plus battery?

It used to be easy to make a Genius Bar appointment. Now I have to jump through a bunch of hoops only to be left wondering how I get to the appointments. Still haven't found a way in.

1. Call the local store you want to go to

2. Keep saying store rep until you get menu options

3. DO NOT CHOOSE OPTION FOR GENIUS APPT>

4. Choose Recent Purchase (Option 3)

5. When you get live person, make an appt.

You may need to inquire about this service through Apple authorized service

providers who are Apple certified, to see if they also will provide replacement

service at the price-point that Apple has said publicly.

Perhaps even good cellular provider may also replace batteries at reasonable cost.

{My iPhone 5c keeps asking about this; but his mobie/case battery still works, tho.}

In any event...

Good luck & happy trails! 🙂

Update - and having an appointment to replace your battery DOESN"T actually mean Apple is going to replace your battery. I found that out yesterday - as did many many others - Apple uses the appoint to gather information an ORDER you a battery, so that you get to come back AGAIN. One would think that Apple would call, text or email to notify you, but one would be wrong.

You also must have the Apple ID password in addition to the passcode for additional security. However, that makes no sense, because if you have the passcode you can simple reset the password without knowing it. I also had the phones of a couple others and had to reset their password to meet this security requirement.

Looks like two days of my life going to be spent replacing Apple batteries. I know two other gentlemen in line with me before 10:00 were still there, like me, after 1:00 and at least two of us had appointments.

Seriously?

Imagine all the people getting batteries replaced right now and you report for having to wait your turn. Oh my.

Hats off to those appreciative of the Apple staff putting in extra time with this latest development, working as fast as possible to get diagnostics ran, documenting it all, getting batteries ordered, and replacing batteries for us customers to get us taken care of as soon as they possibly can all while dealing with an array of people trying to take advantage of the situation, which only hurts those who benefit from the new batteries and pushes their wait time back. The non-stop calls in and of itself would drive me to the end....I can't imagine 😣

Thank you Applecare techs, repair techs, Apple stores, and AASP's!

It’s not that hard to make a straight forward web scheduling app that works and looks forward for months not 7 days. Imagine if you could only schedule a hotel room 7 days in advance.

In fact it use to be easier to find the link to schedule an appointment. You think it got harder by accident?

You’re right there are a lot of hard working employees. That’s a different issue than the management decisions being made.

You should work for Apple - that is good advice. A bit too late for me.

I think there’s confusion also on whether everyone get can the battery replaced. For me, I’m not interested in diagnostic. For $29, just best to replace a two year old heavily used battery.

They ran the diagnostics in the store, but unless you do reesearch the numbers they tell you are meaningless.

Actually, it is. There are still numerous stores sending emails to customers stating there battery is in, and they may arrive before the specified date. No appt necessary. So to correct my second one agreeing with you, I've since found that not all stores require a scheduled appt once the battery arrives - only certain ones. Thus, I digress back to my original response

In Brazil iPhone 6 users are being totally fooled by Apple. Even those who have the right to replace the battery for the promotional price just can't schedule a time to do it, since there's only one Apple store in 16-million-inhabitants Sao Paulo, and I've spent my afternoon today at an authorized Apple service were they told me just to show up in the official store and "be nice" to try to get scheduled cause they wouldn't replace it there. Nobody asked me how nice I was when I first bought the **** phone.
