iPhone X lens cracked

Yep, mine too.

I haven't dropped mine at all, I have just been out over the weekend in really cold temperatures, so am also wondering if its related to that.

Cracked right by the microphone part as many others have said. Really don't want to do an insurance claim for this.

Same thing happened to my iphone x... Never took it out of the case or anything. One day I noticed a little crack next to the microphone on the back of my camera. Very frustrating considering how expensive the phone was 😟

nope, not at all what I'm describing. What you are referring to is the mic and I'm aware that it's on every iPhone. I've included a picture of what I mean. It was difficult to focus but you get the idea. Looking up close, it almost looks exactly like a rock chip from a windshield. It's definitely not supposed to be there and is clearly a crack.

It's hard to tell from the photo but it's not a scratch. It's 100% a crack. The phone is only kept in my breast pocket of my winter coat then it sits in a stand on my desk at work all day. (rinse and repeat) Never put in a pocket with keys. I could understand it if was ever dropped but having paid what I did for this thing...trust me...it's handled better than a parent holding onto a newborn during an earthquake while riding horseback over dirt roads. 😀

Same problem here! Crack in the rear camera. Phone never been out of the case. Looks like the problem is very prevalent. I went to the Apple Store and they want to charge me $549 to replace my phone after wasting 2 hours of my time. This is ridiculous and Apple should do something about!

Same here. Just noticed it today. I’m really disappointed. My iPhones always have a case on and I was under the impression that the glass on the lens is sapphire. My crack also extends from the flash.

Exactly the same issue. Before this crack appeared

My Face ID failed. Clearly a software issue and in no way related to the crack but apple have used this phantom crack as get out clause to avoid rearing my faulty £1100 phone. Shame on you apple your flagship phone is a joke.

My lens cracked last week. Now I have a jagged hole right over the camera. Apple wants $750 to replace the phone. When I told them it’s obviously a design flaw as many people are reporting it online, the rep said he hasn’t heard anything about it. What b.s.

Me too! iPhone X has never dropped and is equipped with an original leather cover.

The glass has cracked at the microphone hole, as others have already noticed.

Apple, please, recognize the problem and fix our iPhones. We payed more than one thousand euros!

My iPhone X lens cracked near the microphone area for no apparent reason. I searched online and found this thread. I do not see any acknowledgment from Apple anywhere here. I have always had the apple silicon case on the phone ever since I got it last Nov.

It's only going to get worse with glass breaking even further. It's also not water-proof anymore! This is so very disappointing!

There is no Apple here in these user to user technical forum, that information was provided in the TOS you signed up for, and was probably mention in this thread as well.

No one is obviously asking for a direct answer here. Just an acknowledgement of the problem, as Apple reads this forum for sure.

There's one more thing I'm sure about: that this is an issue (maybe on a very small percentage of iPhone Xs), and not our fault. So Apple must acknowledge the problem and find a solution, because we payed also for the support and maintenance service.

I took my phone to the Apple store three days ago for a replacement Apple case and to have a glass screen protector fitted. All was well. There was no damage to the phone at this stage. Now, three days later I have a hole just like a stone chip, right next to the lens. It has not been dropped nor put in a pocket with coins or keys. What is going on?

Am taking it back to the Apple store today. Very disappointed. This phone cost over £1000. I am not happy!!!

Same here I acknowledge in past I have dropped other I phone so many times nothing has ever cracked. Mine camera lense on iPhone X cracked and they are insisting I didn’t realize I dropped my phone! I told her I don’t drink so how would I not know I dropped my phone. Not to mention my phone is always in a case. From the amount of complaints I’d say this phone has a default and they need to step up.
