I cannot install Itunes

I recently had to reset my PC due to something causing it to not restart so I have reinstalled all programs I had before but when trying to install Itunes I get this error and it quits the install:

An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft VC80.CRT.type="win32".version="8.0.50727.6195".publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b ".processorArchitecure="amd64" Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80073715

I have no idea what's going on, has anyone else run into this?

I have latest windows updates

I have 64bit system and latest 64bit Itunes installer

nothing of the previous Itunes install is on my system
