I tested the solution to switch off iCloud and the battery level was stable afterwards. Charged the unit evening time to 100 percent afterwards. Next morning I turned iCloud back on and within less than five minutes the battery dropped from 99 percent to 94 percent.

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. I understand that since updating to iOS 11.2.5 you're having trouble with your battery draining faster than normal. I know how important it is for your device to stay charged properly, I'd like to help. First I'd recommend reviewing the information here regarding iPhone Battery and Performance
Next, you can use these steps to see how your battery is being consumed as well as Settings you can change to get the most from your battery:
About the battery usage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touchCheck battery usage
Go to Settings > Battery.
To see how long each app has been open and running in the background, tap . Under each app, you might see these usage types:
- Background Activity means that your battery is used while apps run in the background.
- Audio means that apps play audio while running in the background.
- No Cell Coverage and Low Signal means that your device is searching for a signal or being used with a low signal.
- Backup & Restore indicates that your device has been backing up to iCloud or restoring from an iCloud backup.
- Location and Background Location means that your battery was used when tracking your device.
Adjust settings to improve battery life
While viewing your battery usage, you might get a suggestion like Enable Auto-Brightness or Adjust Display Brightness. This is because iOS determined that changing these settings could improve your battery life. You can also see the usage times since the last full charge.

A new battery is clearly not the answer for ALL of us. I have had the same results as others; battery lasted days before updating to 11.2.5, now I charge it twice a day! Completely unacceptable. I am trying the iCloud, iMessaage toggles today and hope that it improves.
I experienced the same extreme battery drain problem on my iPhone 6. I got two hours standby time yesterday, so I tried the suggestions I found here. Toggling, turning off iCloud Drive, rebooting, and a hard boot made no difference. I lost 10% in less than 15 minutes. For what it is worth, this is what worked for me:
I poked around the settings looking for something else to try...I enabled LTE for voice and turned off data roaming, and then I turned off Calls on Other Devices. The phone immediately stabilized. I recharged it to 100% overnight and took it off the charge this morning. It stayed at 100% for 50 minutes and is now (1 1/2 hours later) at 96%, which includes a 40-minute phone call.

I've tried all the various solutions in this EPIC Story that is now "11.2.5 Upgrade drains battery" to no avail.
But yours is the only solution that I haven't tried. Can you go into details as to the sequence of steps that you look that stabilized your battery drain?
I tried all the other suggestions in sequence of posting dates, except for removing the SIM card. I rebooted, and then shut the phone off and turned it on again. Nothing made a difference. Then, while poking around “Cellular” in “Settings,” I noticed I had not re-enabled LTE for voice (I had data only) so I changed that to voice and data. I also turned off data roaming because I did not need it active at this time. I did these things because I was there and they needed changing, not because I thought it would make a difference to the battery problem. Sorry to have muddied the waters.
My carrier is AT&T, so I take advantage of using WiFi to answer my phone from my other devices. The option in Settings...Cellular...AT&T is called “Calls on Other Devices” and I turned that off because I wondered if the phone was trying to constantly communicate with my iPad. When I got out of Settings, I watched the battery for a while and the drain seemed to have stopped. Today, the phone battery seems to be as healthy as it was pre-11.2.5. This “fix” (and turning off the iCloud Drive) feel like they are dependent on the random configuration of each phone, so it may not work for anyone else. Good Luck!
I have an iPhone 5s. I updated my phone the day 11.2.5 was released. Immediately had problems with phone not responding to the Home button. Force restart, noticed battery would be at 100%. Two minutes later, would show 2%. Again, phone not responding after lock screen. Force restart, same process two or three more times. Phone stuck on boot loop. White Apple insignia to all red screen to a black plug in battery screen. Rediculous upgrade.
I also have a battery drain problem on my 6 since iOS11. The phone is somewhere between 30-70% and works great then goes straight down to 5-10% then shuts down. When I restart it it's back where it was somewhere between 30-70%.
On top of that my GPS is now almost never working anymore since the update (like for thousands of other users).
This seems like a really bad update and we have yet only been offered "support" but no solution to fix our very expensive phones.
The fact that not all iPhones (like the couple's phones above) have that problem does not mean that the problem does not exist at all.
I have an iPhone 6 that has been having battery issues for some time. Updated to 11.2.5 yesterday only to find that those issues have become even more concerning than before. Even a simple task, like replying to a message, seems to be an ordeal — I can actually see the battery percentage decreasing fast. My device was fully charged this morning, then I left home for work and had not used it for the next hour or so. When I did use it, battery was already at 80%. So, 20% of the battery just drained without no usage of mine.
I'm seriously considering moving on to an Android device. I love Apple products and its operating systems, but they are useless without battery life. It would seem Apple is trying to sell a Rolls-Royce car with a FIAT engine. Shame on you, Apple. We expect better from you.
It is all fine and dandy reading over the iPhone battery and performance stuff but does not explain how in the 2.5 hours since I took it off the charger and only have about 5 mins screen time and not running any apps in the background does the battery drop to 85% and the Usage and standby times match.
Hi!
I was experiencing pretty significant battery drain on my ipad pro after updating to IOS 11.2.5 . I tried all the usual things, to no avail. I then remembered that one of the big items of the update was Siri’s ability to tell me the news. I then decided to go to my settings and shut Siri down completely (I rarely use her anyway). Now, the battery drain problem is gone, no more, everything is back to normal. Siri has become too costly to keep! Apple will need to trouble shoot this one.
Exactly the same here with the iOS 11.2.5 update, battery on the iPhone 7 is in bits, fully charged at 11pm, down to 32% by 6.30am without being used, horrific and needs to be sorted, the lack of communication is terrible
I spoke with management at Apple customer care. She treated me as if I was trying to pull a fast one on her. Just because they iPhone 5s is older. The battery was performing just fine. Just days before I used Waze for an hour drive and it worked the entire trip. First bad customer service experience with Apple I’ve ever had. Her bias made it impossible to communicate with.
Thanks so much for this, I was having to charge my iphone 6 twice a day following the recent update and had already tried all the other ‘solutions’ to no avail. I don’t use Siri either, so I disabled it this morning after reading your post. My battery has only drained by 14% all day. Such a relief as I’m disabled and really need a reliable phone, so thank you for your helpful post
I just noticed the same thing! I'm extremely disappointed and annoyed because I recently switched back to iPhone from Android after 10 yrs. I thought ios was bulletproof and would provide absolute stability. I didn't have any problems with Android. Just was looking for a change. Boy was I wrong! I should've trusted my gut and all the reviews of the declining reliability of iOS. I was willing to sacrifice the hardware advantages that Samsung and Google had over Apple. Now I'm stuck with a $700 phone that has worse battery life than a samsung in 2014 and the same hardware specs from Samsung in 2015. ***. THANKS APPLE....
I this is not helpful. My phone is doing this too. I spent 1/2 a day jumping through hoops with Apple to only have it act up 3 days later. Apple is intentionally screwing with people’s phones now. I’m seriously considering turning in my 10 Apple devices ranging from computers,Apple TVs, AirPods, phone, watch, ipod, and iPad and being done. This is a big inconvenience.
