When will CarPlay allow Google Maps?

I just purchased a car with ApplePlay compatibility. I was very disappointed to learn I cant use Google Maps through CarPlay. CarPlay is currently limited to a handful of apps. Unfortunately Apple Maps has limitations in my city and I no longer use it. I can use Google Maps on my i-Phone, when will I be able to use it on CarPlay. I believe CarPlay will be much more relevant once other apps are allowed such as Google Maps and Waze. C'mon Apple!
