Memory Leak on High Sierra 10.13.3

I have a MB Pro (2016) with 16GB RAM. Ever since upgrading, performance has been wonky

- beachballs way more often across all apps (primarily MS Office stuff though)

- memory drops throughout the day (I track using CleanMyMac and Activity Monitor) from max avail of 10GB to less than 1MB). NOTE: This is typically just with me running Outlook, PPT, Slack, Skype and either Word or Excel.

- when trying to open apps I get unable to open window messages (I am thinking this might be tied to memory or window server)

I have read other threads saying this was tied to scaled v default window setup (I set to Default now with no improvement), some threads say that issue was fixed in 10.13.1 and others say it is still out there...

Is anyone else noticing this either leak or memory hog that chews up free memory? Other than continually cleaning up stuff is there anything else I should be doing? I typically have to reboot once a day and this is what made me dump my PC for work...

thanks in advance!

Ron

I like this utility, thanks for the recommendation. However, when I see that the Performance of the report is Below Average, I am not seeing anything that jumps out at me as to why. Am I missing something here? PS. McAfee is required on my system so I can't get rid of that.

EtreCheck version: 3.4.6 (460)

Download EtreCheck from https://etrecheck.com

Unfortunately my corporate install mandates it be running so I can connect to my VPN. I know how bad it is for performance but have been living with it forever so when it is running fine, I am good with that level of performance. Which was still better than my old PC.

The key here is that the Mac went to crap with High Sierra. Beachballs, memory being used up over the day, crashes and unresponsiveness. I am not seeing anything on that report that is pointing to a glaring issue

Jan 30, 2018 2:36 PM in response to RonIller

The good news is that I de-installed CleanMyMac and the system seems a bit more stable. I need to shoot whoever told me to get that

That may be a little harsh, but immediate termination of whomever recommended using utterly worthless "anti-virus" garbage on your Mac is justified. As long as "McAfee" is installed your Mac will never work properly.
