Hi,
I have a mac mini, (Mac mini (Late 2012)) and I am trying to install windows on it. I have high sierra installed and when I run Bootcamp I cannot resize the partition. I want to split it 50/50 but it first comes up with -8GB. If I click on the windows partition it jumps to 48GB but if I hit divide equally it goes back to -8gb. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Much better. Connect your USB2 installer, reboot the 2012 Mini, and hold Alt/Option key and select the Windows icon from the USB. It should start the legacy Windows installer. Select the GPT4/MBR4 partition and try to install Windows. If you see any errors, please post the exact error message or a screen shot, if possible.
Can you start a new discussion in Boot Camp to avoid confusion with OP? Your 2011 Mac needs a DVD to install Windows 7/8.1. W10 is not supported on your Mac.
Post the output of
diskutil list
from macOS Terminal.
Disconnect the 2TB Archive Drive. Run SMC and NVRAM Reset and retry. High Sierra has partitioning issues using the new BC Assistant.
Did you already create the USB2 flash drive containing the BC drivers and Windows files using BCA and the Create and Download checkboxes?
Yep, I had already created it, do I need to make a new one?
Quit BCA, if it is running. Run Disk Utility and create a FAT partition of the size you want Windows to be, and post the output of
diskutil list
sudo fdisk /dev/disk0
I have just wiped the USB2 flash drive because I presumed I needed to before you answered 😟 is this a problem? or can I make a new one?
Please disable SIP temporarily and retry.
This is not valid on a 2012 Mac. You need a MBR. Download and install https://sourceforge.net/projects/gptfdisk/ and we can create a MBR.

You are a legend. Windows is now installing. I knew I had screwed up the hard drive and had looked for ages for instruction on how to fix it. Thanks so much for your help.
