Lay answer here so you have proberbly already solved it, but I’m here to help people that come here later.
I had the EXACT same problem, but I solved it by letting the case die then charge it back up. This made it so the left one could be detected witch made me able to reset the case!
I tried all the suggestions and nothing would work. Since mine were out of warranty, I decided to try mkangfga’s anecdotal advice and slam them on a table. Maybe banged the case on a table 10 times and low and behold, the pods are working again. I hit them about hard as you would a ketchup bottle to get the ketchup out. Weird.
this fixed my issue. Left AirPod Pro died in the case i guess and wasn't charging. Swabbing the inside of the case and the bottom of the pod resolved the issue as i guess it didn't recognize both pods in the case when i was holding the reset button on the back. After cleaning, the amber light flashed after the 15 seconds. And yeah the left AirPod had died and wasn't charging in the case
Open the case hold the reset button and take out 1 air pod if the light turns green it means the air pod that’s still in the case isn’t connected so put it back in and take out the other one then the light should be solid white put both back in after that and it should begin to blink
It might not work for you because yours might be defective try calling apple and they will send you a replacement you will have to send yours to it’s free if it’s within one year all AirPods have a 1 year warranty or if you have apple care
I did the same thing. Cleaned the charging port (hole) in the case and left side connected and was uncharged. Once cleaned, it started charging and the connected to my Iphone. Thanks for the help....
Resetting the network settings was the only thing that fixed my issue. Everything is working fine now. Thanks for the post!!
clean it with cotton buds - I was told to do this by chat and was very dubious - but worked a treat!
They have a one-year warranty. Just contact Apple and they’ll send a replacement.
In my case I wound up having to purchase a new charging case. The one I initially bought was defective and not covered under the apple warranty because I purchased it from a third party!
i was able to fix the problem by resetting the network settings!!!!
I HAD THIS SAME ISSUE. HERE: Remove the Airpods. Hit the reset button (you won't see white yet). Then insert the airpods inside. Then hit the reset button and it will turn white.
just let the base station of the airpods run out of accu so that it will reset itself. It will take some time though
I just wanted to add that my left airpod wouldn't connect for days. I tried holding the reset button but never got the Amber light. I put them in the case and closed the lid and hit it a few times off table and it actually fixed them. Everything is fine now. Probably not the best advice but it worked for both this guy and me.
I had this too and it was driving me crazy. I FINALLY found the answer on the web after sifting through seemingly thousands of "turn them on" or "put them in your ears" or "make sure you hit play in iTunes"-style answers. What worked for me is to take a q-tip and stick it in the holes in your charging case also and rub it along the contact point on the bottom of your AirPods themselves. This didn't solve my amber light problem but it did solve my initial problem of having one of my AirPods not working.
My right side AirPod was not recognized and i was having the same problem not getting the amber light on reset attempts. I tried cleaning the case and contacts etc with no success. Eventually i licked the bottom that meets the contact points in the case and for some reason it connected once i returned it to the case and began to charge. I was able to reset and my AirPods are they are back to normal.
