But that never happens. I have the same problem as the original post, except my right AirPod won't work and they won't reset. I hold the reset button and it slowly flashes white, never flashes amber. I can hold it for 2 mins to no avail. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I have the AirPod pros and think they are the worst things I have ever purchased. Only had them since end of May and endless problems - had the charging case chAnged but now it’s the other ear pod that doesn’t work and when I forget the device as the reset doesn’t work, the device doesn’t find them. You can’t just pop them in your ears and just go - no you have to fiddle about for ages to get them to work - extremely frustrating. Looks line yet more calls to support sbd a trip to an Apple store. Not what I would expect for the price of these. Very disappointed.

Had same issue including right AirPod not working which IS related. This issue seems to be caused by one of the AirPods no longer making connection at the bottom of the case for whatever reason. I tried cleaning mine with a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol to no avail. I read one reply which said he/she was able to get the line to turn orange but holding it up ever so slightly. I was able to do the same. I tried to place some cotton at the bottom but did not work either. Finally I remember I had an old case from a pair of AirPods that had been washed. I put my AirPods in that case and BOOM. Worked. So hopefully some of you have an old case laying around.

Keep trying. Lightly clean the AirPods around the silver lining. It might take a couple of tries. The other thing is to remove the Bluetooth device in settings and reset. Like you, i was having difficulty and then one more try and it worked. you'll get there - clean all parts, remove from bluetooth and reset.

Good luck.

YOU GUYS. After countless attempts of trying to get my left AirPod to connect I’ve finally got it to work ! I’ve literally tried every suggestion on this thread including gently hitting it on the table but nothing seemed to work. I cleaned the case like prompted to do but still nothing.. which lead me to skip all the suggestions having to do with cleaning my AirPods, because well duh I already did that. So after being on the verge of just giving up and willing to accept my fate, I decided to use my flashlight to look inside the case to make sure I didn’t miss any debris and when I used the flashlight to look onto the metal rim at the bottom of my malfunctioning AirPod, I saw the thinnest layer of dried up dirt that wasn’t visible without the glare of the flashlight. So I delicately scraped it off and.. MY CASE RECOGNIZED MY LEFT AIRPOD AGAIN. So please please please before trying any ridiculous suggestions, MAKE SURE YOU'VE CLOSELY EXAMINED EVERY INCH OF YOUR CASE AND AIRPODS FOR ANY DIRT OR DEBRIS it could make your life so much easier.

I hope this helps someone (:

This is the only way I fixed it and it has worked a few times -

I think I solved my issue after trying all of the suggestions including banging it in the desk.

I found that only one earpod was charging with a flashing light when I swapped each one in and out so I left that earpod charging while the other was out and the case was open and not on charge as I was trying to flatten the battery to try a reset.

So with the charging one in and the case open and the other one out I waited for the battery to go flat, but the light just went out after a long time (10 mins maybe) . (Then I forgot device and then reconnected in Bluetooth)

When I placed them both in the amber light came on, hurrah after hours of other attempts this method worked !

I have noticed that only one earpod works unless I place both in my ears at exactly the same time.

Seems like they do have many issues with connection and charging, very frustrating !

I'm having a similar problem. My right airpod pro won't connect. I've reset my network settings, tried on 2 phones, turned bt on and off, forgot the airpods, restarted the phones, tried charging the airpods, and lastly tried to reset the airpods, but when I hold the button, the white light flashes slowly for about 10 seconds and stops. I've cleaned the contacts on the case and earpieces, but I can't get them to reset. I'd appreciate any help.

Same issue and the same no solution from Apple! Hours on the phone and literally 2 sets of replacement AirPods Pro's! Unbelievable! I went out and purchased an under $30 pair on Amazon to have something to use while I tried to fix the AirPod Pro's! Literally connected within 10 seconds of taking out of the box! What's wrong with this picture? Pricy Airpods Prop's can't be setup and or used with no support from Apple and earbuds a fraction of the cost work right out of the box! Steve Jobs is rolling in his grave!!!!!
