But that never happens. I have the same problem as the original post, except my right AirPod won't work and they won't reset. I hold the reset button and it slowly flashes white, never flashes amber. I can hold it for 2 mins to no avail. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

This is the EXACT scenario I'm in! When I put the airpod it, the light will flash green, but only one will show up if I connect to my phone. I tried cleaning out debris both inside the case and on the airpod, but that didn't seem to be the issue, as the case clearly knows it's there, it just refuses to charge it. How exactly did you fix this? I'm at a loss.

Hey victoria_n!

Have you tried cleaning the tunnels of the airpods with a q-tip and alcohol?

I had the same problem a few days ago but it seemed to work perfectly fine after I cleaned the little amber prongs for the individual Airpod tunnels and also wiped the bottom of the ear pieces. After doing so, the normal operating white lights flashed and it connected to my device immediately.

Try this method out and you can possibly save your self some time to the genius bar.

Hey guys, im pretty new to this so I dont really know where to/ how to reply properly, so ill just do it here. So basically just now I left my phone in one room, while the right airpod was with me(the left one was still near the phone), seems like i got out of range of the phone I think, and the right airpod just stopped working. Left one works fine, but whatever I do the right one doesnt seem to want to work. They were both charged, any tips?

Wife's right AirPod (2nd gen) was chewed up by a dog. I bought a right AirPod on eBay. When I put it in the case and pair it with the iPhone, it will pair but only the left AirPods works. Even when I pull or insert the right AirPod out of case the light doesn't even flash. I have tried 2 cases and tried pairing with 2 iPhones and the right doesn't work. I'll stick my own right AirPod in either case and the light will flash. I think it may be a bad AirPod I bought. I also do not get an amber light

Mine stopped working yesterday. I've had this pair since February, I had another pair of airpods, but it wouldn't play anything in one airpod, even though it played the connecting chime. Now this pair has one airpod which isn't even being recognized by my iPhone and when I try to reset them, they start flashing amber uncontrollably. They charge and the case recognizes them.

More for anyone coming across this thread. If you can’t hard reset it’s because the contacts for charging the actual AirPods are dirty. I had my right one disconnect and all the issues everyone else had. After taking a Qtip and cleaning the contacts (used a damp one then dry side) then my AirPods worked properly again. My right one wasn’t charging, and that’s why it wouldn’t connect.

I got a replacement Airpod (left) as directed by an apple representative. When I received my AirPod I attempted to reset and pair them to my phone again, the amber light flashes automatically if they are inside the case. If I hold the reset button nothing happens, the amber light just continues to flash. If I double tap the button the white light flashes for a brief second and returns to amber. The connect interface pops up on my iPhone and when I press connect only the replacement AirPods connects. I called customer service who walked me through this process again with the end result being the same. The customer service rep scheduled an appointment for me on Jan 7th, 2022. Today is January 2nd, 2022. I have to go 5 days without my purchased AirPods and it’s extremely frustrating considering I use them for work. UNACCEPTABLE APPLE

I had the same issue. I cleaned the airpod charger holder (whatever it's called I'm sorry!) and cleaned w q tip. It wasn't working for me when I realized there was basically a piece of ear wax or something on the bottom of the airpod itself that attaches the airpod to the charging port inside the charger. Once I cleaned that off, this advice did help and my airpods are happily charging again. Left airpod was at like 1% when all was said and done so that checks out! Thought it was done for but was eventually able to reset.

I should probably clean these things more often🙃

Omg i’m having the same exact problem and it is so annoying. My friend bought me these gen2 airpods from walmart and when they arrived they worked perfectly for about 10 hours, but then my left one died, so i charged it and once i let it charge it stopped working so then i reset the airpods and that still didn’t work and now i can’t reset them or connect them to my phone. Waste of a $100. One big scam

i have found out that if all the normal troubleshooting methods have not worked for you, (network reset on phone, factory reset, charging, cleaning, etc.) then check out the charging connectors inside your case mine was out of place, and shoved slightly further into the connectors hole most likely from pushing them in to hard, so yours is probably out of place and needs readjustment or is broken. all i needed was a tiny screwdriver and toothpick to get it back into place and after that both Airpods synched and are playing audio again. hope this helped someone out🤔😁
