I was having the same issue (left airpod not charging or being recognized) and I found a fix. When the left AirPod was in the case I lifted up on it ever so slightly (maybe 1/64”) and the light changed to orange and it started charging. So I stuck a very thin piece of foam with adhesive on one side into the fitted groove so the AirPod now sits higher in the case and charges. Hope this helps!
Stupid as it sounds, licking the end worked for me - no problems since
Mine don’t even flash white either so I’m their for about 30 seconds just holding the button and pressing them down
This was very helpful. Never thought cleaning the tips would work but so far so good. Thank you
my god, I slammed it against the table and it WORKED! THANK YOU!
I was actually able to resolve my issue before I saw your suggestion. If any of you are still trying to figure this out, try cleaning the contacts in the bottom of your airpod case with a cotton swab. Once I did that and put them back in, the light glowed amber (showing that they were charging) as opposed to the green (full charge) light if had before the cleaning. I then did the reset process and it worked! Once connected, it showed my left AirPod had very low battery. So basically, some dirt or something kept it from charging and it died completely. Hopefully that helps someone!
In your opinion they are overrated and inexpensive. Based on your sample of 1.
If you had purchased your AirPods within 14 days you could return them for a refund. The AppleCare people cannot help you with that and cannot handle it if you wanted to send them back. My AirPods have worked just fine so I think you should be able to use them as intended. Or return them to the Apple Store if they are within 14 days of purchase or sell them if not.
Ya this is the internet. Of course everything is based on my opinion and a sample of 1. Most reviews are!
I would agree they worked fine when I bought them. But I would be wary of people who are now looking to buy them as many people have complained about this issue. Personally, I was more disappointed with the Apple service that I received more than anything. No way, I should be denied the right to return something (the replacement Apple airpod) I bought one day ago without being told that all sales are final upfront.
Same thing here, I slammed my case against the table but that didn’t work for me right away. I had problems getting them to pair after I performed a reset and forget this device. I finally got them to pair after taking the defective one, left airpod, I slammed the AirPod itself against the table and the pair animation popped up!!!! Still have trouble getting the left one to work a lot of the time but at least one works.
Bought a set yesterday, and having exactly the same issue - They never connected to any devices, won't enter pairing mode and the "reset" method is doing exactly the same thing.... Open the case to a steady green light, press the button and the light goes white and stays like that. It never goes into any other more or resets as per the instructions.
Not that impressed, not seeing solutions online and the store / support doesn't seem to have an answer other than to "send them for repair" - Trying to return them to the place I purchased them is proving frustrating too. So far they're refusing to accept them due to "their hygiene policy"
I was frustrated knowing I could never get mines to pair after purchasing. Needless to say I returned mines to the store... at first the push back was.. “ Go to Apple Store they’ll replace them”. But I had literally purchased them less than 24 hours so the manager went on an exchange
Omg your suggestion is the ONLY thing that worked after trying literally everything. I thought that banging it against the table couldn’t possibly fix it and that it would only do more harm than good but it actually worked. I’m shocked. Thank you
I am shocked that this actually worked for me too!! I threw the non working AirPod down on my wooden coffee table about twice, and then inserted it in to my case. The light stopped blinking when the pod was inserted in the case, and then I was able to get the amber light when resetting the AirPods via the button on the case. Thank you for this abnormal advice!! I’ll take it!!
I am having this same exact problem. It is so frustrating. I went to the Bluetooth settings on my iPhone and “forgot” my AirPods, as so many suggest. Now I can’t even get my iPhone to recognize my AirPods through Bluetooth. It’s like they don’t even send out a signal anymore. My AirPods worked properly for about 1 day after purchasing them. Worst purchase I ever made.
My air pods won’t work like I try to reset them they don’t flash white it’s still green then it turns off. I disconnected them from my phone I clicked forget. When I open the case they won’t appear on my phone. The reason I wanted to reset it in the first place was because the left one wasn’t working and sometimes the right one won’t work. Any solutions?
Same issue here, the left side of my AirPods is not working. When I put it back in the box, it just like nothing, the box cannot detect the left side. I’ve been hold the bottom like 2 mins it’s still flashing white, never see the amber color show up.
