Yes. This is what did it for me. Mine are old. I had trouble with the right one not charging. Eventually it wouldn’t trigger the case either. I knew I had to get that amber flash for the reset but could not get it. Only white. The order of operations is important.

1. Not be in pIring mode, must be forgotten in Bluetooth settings

2. Both in case lid closed

3. CASE UNPLUGGED

4. Plug in case

5. Open lid

6. Hold button ~15 sec until amber flash, release

Should be flashing white now.

7. Close lid

8. Open lid and pair.

And BOOM. I have my right one back!!

I have a different story. With the same problem.

Can reset my ipods.

Strange thing was.

I could reset my case without the pods.

I coukd reset with either one of them inside. But with both this was an no show.

So I checked the firmware of my pods. And guess what different firmwares.

Thank you Apple for making this possible —- not.

for some reason my right pod won’t upgrade.

I guess when both have same firmware it will all work again.

But I’m not able to this.

I tried the steps for upgrade.

Case at an charger. Connected to my ohone.

It would have been nice to have an feature to update the firmware yourself. And not the one Apple has givin us right now. If you’re lucky I’ll do the update for you.

if anyone has any tips to fix my situation. Alll help is appreciated.

Thanks so much for this! It certainly helped me...never considered that one of the two weren’t seated properly because the solid green led one to think they were both fully charged - made even more difficult to detect having had “forgot the device”! Once I tried your suggestion I was able to realize that one was fully charged while the other was drained fully...and upon receiving the Amber indication I retried holding down the reset button and was able to pair them once again. Thanks so very much for sharing what you learned!

i washed and dried my airpods but they worked when i took them out of the dryer because i started walking around the house using them. A few days later they won’t connect so i go to reset them and when i push the button nothing happens. The light stays solid green and then cuts off till i let go off the button. kinda seems like it’s not registering the fact that i’m pushing the button at all

I'm using apple products since 2006. I had many laptops, ipods, iphones, ipads until now . But the worst product i bought from Apple is %100 airpods ! I think apple should announce to receive all these faulty airpods back ! The left one of my airpods is not working properly from the beginning (25 July 2018) . I sent it to service to replace it but they didn't . Anyway after the service it worked fine for a while. But now i have the same problems again. Left one is not working and additionally i cannot reset or pair my airpods with any device. Many people has the same issues . And all are trying to find a solution . The solutions i read are ; cleaning , reset network settings , turn off/on your device(ipad, iphone etc) . Still not working ... Hopefully someone can help us to fix it permanently.

My AirPods worked perfectly when I first got them, then after a couple uses started to notice left AirPods wasn’t connecting but then I reconnected with Bluetooth and worked perfectly again. Then AirPods didn’t want to connect at all so I went in settings and put forget this device and tried to reconnect and AirPods don’t want to reset or reconnect anymore.

My right airpod did not work and the airpods did not reset. So i wiped everything with iso-propyl alcohol but did not work. I tried so many times and no use. The light did not turn amber. I pressed hard on the airpods and tried to reset but no use. Frustrated and threw the left airpod to the ground and then it started detecting and reset done successfully. I don't know y this happened. Now 2 airpods are working :D :D

Try at your own risk. Insert the airpod untill the light turns amber or stays green for sometime.

I agree. The quality is overrated . The product is overpriced. First the right one didn’t work. Then the right one worked , but the left one didn’t. Then both didn’t work. Then I reset with Forget Device and Network reset several times. Finally it worked. Then everytime I want to reuse them, I have to reset them. Now the green light is continuous. I can’t even get the white light to occur, when trying to reset . For 300-something dollars , after only several months ?
